"Saint-Pétersbourg, Rue Tverskaïa" is, as you see by the language of the title, a French movie that only runs for roughly one minute. It was made almost 120 years ago and was thus among the very early films in cinema history. So it should not come as a surprise that it is silent and black-and-white. The production company is Lumière, who made an uncountable number of films back then in the final years of the 19th century. Even if there is nothing outstanding about this film in terms of action of visuals, there is one interesting aspect about it. You hardly never see Russia depicted in these very early films. Had I not known it from the title that this is the city of St. Petersburg, I probably would not have guessed. Solid watch for early silent film lovers, but the rest does not have to see it.
