You know her best from Ally McBeal and Charlie's Angels, but this Sunday night Lucy Liu is trying something different — a romantic comedy TV movie for Lifetime. Marry Me is the tale of a woman who dreams that someday her prince will come and then winds up with three of them. Her new beau, her ex-boyfriend and a romantic stranger all propose marriage and a comedy of errors ensues as she decides which one to marry.
This is a departure for Liu who is known more for drama and action than for playing the leading lady. In a recent conference call interview she talked about why this role appealed to her. She commented, "I've never done a romantic comedy before. That was the first thing that was attractive to me, the idea of doing something that was very different from what I normally do. Other things which...

Martha Stewart's plan to beat Oprah Winfrey to world domination started this week. While Miss O. is milking the last season of her talk show, giving away trips to Australia, and announcing left and right new series for her upcoming Own Network, Martha is quietly slipping into place.
Stewart is turning the Hallmark channel into her own kingdom without changing the call letters to MSN (that's already taken anyway) with eight hours of daytime programming Monday through Friday.
To kick it off, Monday morning saw the premiere of the sixth season of The Martha Stewart Show on its new network. The Emmy-winning series will air not once, not twice, but three times a day on Hallmark.
Next up is Martha's daughter Alexis Stewart and co-host Jennifer Koppelman Hutt on their own hour-long talk show, Whatever With Alexis & Jennifer. The irreverent daytime...

Polygamy seems to be all the rage these days in the pop culture world. HBO's Big Love set the bar. Next month there will be a reality series following a multi-spousal husband called Sister Wives on Tlc. And tonight Lifetime premieres a new movie called The 19th Wife.
In the made for TV movie, based on the book by David Ebershoff, Chyler Leigh ("Little Grey" on Grey's Anatomy) plays Queenie a wife in the secretive world of the fundamentalist sect First Church of Latter Day Saints in Utah. She goes to great lengths to defend and prove the innocence of another wife, BeckyLyn (played by Brothers & Sisters' Patricia Wettig) who is accused of their husband's murder. Queenie calls on BeckyLynn's son Jordan (Gilmore Girls' Matt Czuchry) for help and the pair end up risking their lives when they uncover some of the sect's darker secrets.

Chyler Leigh and Matt Czuchry (as Jordan) in Lifetime's The 19th Wife
Last night, Lifetime aired a TV movie called The 19th Wife that tells the story of a man, Jordan, who has been excommunicated from the Mormon Church, and his efforts to help his mother, a member of a polygamous sect who has been accused of killing her husband.
The movie is based on a novel by David Ebershoff. But there was one big difference between the movie and novel: in the novel, Jordan is gay, and a sub-plot involves his relationship with another man. This was cut from the movie version.
We asked Ebershoff, who lives in New York City, for a reaction, and he told us:
I had no role in the adaptation. A few weeks before filming began I learned that Jordan had been rewritten as straight. I was told that this was a network decision.

'Bachelor Pad' (8Pm, ABC) season 1 finale
Who's left: David & Natalie, Kovacs & Elizabeth and Kiptyn & Tenley, the three couples who will be competing to walk away with the big $250,000 grand prize in tonight's first-season wrap-up of 'The Bachelor' spin-off that turned out to be a great summer guilty pleasure. Frankly, we think they should all get a big lump of money -- well, the women, at least -- after that humiliating 'Bachelor Pad' survey episode, which just may be the meanest thing we've ever seen in primetime. But it's a 'Dancing With the Stars'-ish competition that's going to factor into who wins the money, as 'DWtS' famous faces Chelsie Hightower, Edyta Sliwinska and Louis Van Amstel pop in to help the final six shake their groove thangs.

Lexie’s totally scarred after her near-death experience at the end of last season!
Chyler Leigh’s character Dr. Lexie Grey has always seemed the most put together out of the Grey’s Anatomy cast — the only questionable act she has ever committed was changing her hair from brunette to blonde in season six — but that’s all about to change in the upcoming seventh season! Lexie “ends up having a complete breakdown and having to go into the psych ward,” Chyler shared during a Sept. 8 conference call for her new Lifetime movie, The 19th Wife.
“Right when we come back into it, you will start seeing the trauma manifest for every character,” Chyler said. And for Lexie, this means losing her mind.
In the two-part sixth season finale titled “Sanctuary” and “Death and All His Friends,” we saw Lexie’s world literally shatter when a shooter invaded Seattle Grace...

HollywoodNews.com: Patricia Wettig certainly didn’t need to take on Lifetime’s Sept. 13 movie, “The 19th Wife.” After all, she’s plenty busy enough with her role on “Brothers & Sisters.” She’s also completed writing a new play, “F To M,” that was unveiled this summer at New York Stage and Film’s Readings Festival. But Wettig tells us she found her role in the telefilm irresistibly compelling – for personal reasons. Her portrayal turned out to be a tribute of sorts to one of the women she loved most in her life.
She explains, “When I grew up, my closest relationship, until I was nine, was to my great grandma. She was married to a Methodist minister. She was a very strict, very stern, very religious person – except with me. She just adored me. I had a special connection with her. On the outside,...
