An interesting look at the unsolved crimes.
This first episode tells of the deaths that could perhaps have been prevented, crimes that The Ripper got away with, without pretty much any sort of challenge.
It makes you consider that Sutcliffe must have been committing his unspeakable crimes, at least six years before his first recognised crime.
You are made to think about the mistakes made by The Police, and there were quite a few . ...however, hindsight is a wonderful thing, and The Police were operating with the equipment and culture that they were given, people are now bashing Police at the time, they were trying to catch him, not pioneer modern Policing methods.
Once again, the issue, is that Peter Sutcliffe was an out and out monster, I'm not sure we'll ever know the number of crimes.
I thought this was an ok first episode, too much of the blame culture for me, not enough blame for the true criminal, Sutcliffe!!!
6/10.
