I just watched the Japanese film "House" and hated it. If you care to know why, read my review for it. However, despite disliking the movie, I did like this special feature as it helped me understand a little bit about how the film was made, why it was made as well as showing me that there actually were some people who really liked the film (none were adults at the time--they hated it). The first thing I learned, and it came as no surprise, was that the story idea and much of the plot came from the director's 10 year-old. This I truly could believe, as the movie did come off like a film made by kids and for kids. I also learned about the state of the Japanese film industry of the 1970s as well as that Akira Kurosawa also hated the film. And, since he is so well-respected, perhaps people will cut my review a bit of slack, too, as I disliked "House" and felt it was a waste of my time.
