- Annie and Auggie work together in the field to obtain a code from a Russian hacker--a woman who also just so happens to be Auggie's ex-girlfriend.
- When communication systems throughout D.C. are shut down by a hacker, Auggie is put in the field to obtain the code for the CIA. But his excitement to be doing field work is tempered when he learns that the hacker responsible is Natasha Petrovna...who happens to be his ex-girlfriend.—USA Publicity
- We zoom up into space and see the lights on a satellite go from green to red. At Langley, dozens of analysts try to figure out what has just happened to their computers. Traffic lights all flash red.
At home, Danielle (Anne Dudek) complains about the internet not working. The TV is out, too. She's got a photo shoot set up to launch a catering business and gets Annie (Piper Perabo) to pose.
Liza Hearn (Emmanuelle Vaugier), the reporter who's been aggravating Arthur (Peter Gallagher) and writing things about the CIA, tells someone in the other room the cable is out. It's Auggie (Christopher Gorham). She says he's not the only one he knows at the CIA (so maybe he's not the leak). He's ready to stay and play house more when he hears his phone is out, too. He wonders if it's the 13th already.
At work, Auggie tells Joan (Kari Matchett) it wasn't an accident. The Data Tech conference starts today. He wants to go in. She tells him it's already set up.
Data Tech is 1,000 hackers sitting down with law enforcement to swap ideas. Joan briefs the troops on the cyber attack. The hack looks like one in 2007, except it took advantage of something they'd never seen before.
They think Natasha Petrovna (Liane Balaban) might be behind the attack. Auggie explains she's his ex-girlfriend.
She's from Russia. She just spent two years in prison for a hack.
They want Auggie to negotiate a consulting deal with her. Auggie thinks Natasha is an idealist and won't go for money.
Auggie points out to Joan if he makes the deal, she'll know he's a spy. Joan realizes.
Jai (Sendhil Ramamurthy) brings Annie photos security wants taken down from the Internet. They're the ones Danielle took that morning.
Annie takes Auggie to his place to change into a Super Mario Bros 1Up t-shirt. At Data Tech, Auggie briefs her on what the various types look like.
The people on the dais are former criminals now consulting. Natasha asks a question of the FBI about warrantless wiretaping.
Annie narrates for Auggie, telling him Natasha appears to be turning down money from fancy Europeans.
Auggie stops her. Natasha slaps him. "I didn't see that coming," he says. When she says he should have, he explains he meant it literally, because he's blind.
She says she waited for him at Kincaid's but he never showed and two days later she was arrested. He tells her he wants in on her hack.
Outside, he offers her the $2 million and she's surprised he doesn't know her well enough to know she's not in it for the money. He says he has to offer, for his company.
She says his company can have her code when she releases it wide tomorrow.
He has to tell her he works for the CIA. She walks away.
Driving home, Auggie tells Annie that he and Natasha dated for over a year. He loved her. He says he asked permission to keep dating her but the bosses told him no. The FBI had her in a sting and he couldn't protect her.
Auggie and Annie return to Langley. Joan tells him he has to go back tomorrow.
Joan says what she's asking is the right thing for Natasha. He agrees.
Back home, Annie tries to talk about her day. She is surprised by Auggie's ex. She also thinks he's sleeping with someone he hasn't told her about.
Danielle shows her the catering website, with Annie's face all over it. Annie asks her to take the pictures down. She says she wants the people at work to think of her as professional. Danielle is put out.
Annie arrives for Auggie at his house. His phone rings, the voice announces it's Liza Hearn, the reporter. Annie waits for an explanation. Finally he says they're dating. She thinks he's the leak.
He says he's running an op on Liza, working her to get to her source. He hasn't told Joan because he doesn't want her to give the "job" to someone else.
"James Bond was a lonely, sad old man," Annie says. She doesn't believe Auggie's the kind of guy who would exploit a woman for intel. He points out that's exactly what he's being asked to do with Natasha.
Outside the conference, Auggie sits down with Natasha and openly shows her the wire he's wearing and points out Annie and Jai across the street.
Auggie tells Natasha the CIA made him break up with her. It was the hardest thing he ever did and after he went to Iraq to get away and ended up blind.
Annie feels odd listening in, but Jai points out he could be lying. Annie sees FBI approaching.
Auggie tells Natasha he can't protect her if she walks away. She gets up to walk away and an SUV speeds toward her. Auggie calls for her hand to pull her out of the way and they narrowly miss the car.
But when Auggie gets up to dust himself off, Natasha is gone.
Back at Langley, they have traffic cam footage of the guys driving, the Europeans who were arguing with Natasha. They're Russian mob, which means it's FBI jurisdiction. Auggie can't believe he's about to be forced to bail on Natasha again.
Auggie goes home to find Natasha there. She suggests maybe he might want to change his locks after giving her his key.
She tells him she got wrapped into the Russian mob doing small jobs at first. Now they want the hack. They think they own her code.
She wants to take her in, but she takes his phone apart.
He tries to convince her to trust someone.
The next day, Auggie is late to work, which is strictly against the rules.
Annie and Jai go to his house and find his phone, ID and keys on the counter. They also find Natasha's scarf.
Cut to Auggie on a train with Natasha. Jai and Annie report in to Joan. Annie finds a receipt for a pre-paid credit card. They search the area and find a card nearby was used to buy tickets on Amtrak to Montreal.
Auggie continues to try to convince Natasha to go in to the CIA. He also listens to find Canadian passengers because he needs their pass. They approach a couple.
Back at Langley, Annie argues Auggie left the clues for them to find. Jai thinks he's actually helping Natasha get to Canada.
Joan wants them to find Auggie before the FBI does. She sends Annie and Jai to the plane.
The FBI stops the train, but doesn't find them. We see Auggie and Natasha on a passing train. She reminds Auggie he used to be buttoned down and asks what happened. He winks at her.
She doesn't believe he broke up with her because the CIA told him to. He reminds her she didn't want to move to DC and didn't want kids. She kisses him. Luckily, they have a private sleeping car. They make use of it.
Jai reads a flight mid-air reporting Auggie wasn't on the train. Annie reiterates she trusts Auggie, she's sure she's right. Jai reminds her what Auggie's doing is against protocol. Annie remembers protocol is to travel unpredictably and the track splits at Albany.
Annie and Jai check the other train.
There's a knock at Auggie's compartment. When Natasha answers, two thugs bust in. Auggie tells Natasha to hit the lights and fights the men off in the dark. A gunshot takes out the window.
Annie hears it.
Auggie fights until one goes out the window and the other is knocked out. He and Natasha are fine. He tells her to get dressed to jump off the train.
The FBI is lined up waiting to search when they stop.
Natasha tells Auggie she'll go on her own, but he won't abandon her again. She asks what if she doesn't have the code? He says he'd still help. She gives him a flash drive with the source code, saying it's everything he needs. She kisses him and tells him she loves him. Then she jumps off the train.
She walks away safely and watches him pull away. He's helpless to find her.
He finds Annie and Jai in the hallway. Jai asks where Natasha is, but Auggie hands him the flash drive in response. Annie says I told you so.
Auggie tells Joan he's not sure he was always just working the situation like an op. She says emotions are part operations, a compliment. Then she warns him not to do what he did ever again. He doesn't expect to hear from Natasha ever again.
Annie's waiting in his office. She asks what he's going to do about Liza Hearn. He says he's going to get as much info as he can, then he's going to end it. She says it's OK with her, she trusts him.
Back home, Annie apologizes to Danielle and shoots photos of her for the site.
Auggie comes home. Liza Hearn is there.
