A very good film!

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this film since it looks at the severe repercussions that Native adults had to endure while under the nasty tutelage of the nuns and priests when they attended the "residential schools" as children. I added quotes for the words 'residential schools' because they were NOT schools but DEATH CAMPS. Mainstream society just conveniently calls them "schools" because no one wants to admit the heinous crimes that were committed against Native kids!

However the way I saw it, the REAL Windigo were the spirits that caused certain characters in the film to have frightening flashbacks, eg. when Lilli locked herself in that outhouse when her mother found her there. Lilli recalled her horrific experience to her mother when the nuns/priests cut her hair while she attended those death camps! To recall something so horrific while being locked up in an outhouse like that, it's no wonder why there are MANY victims who came forward and STILL coming forward with their experiences today! But this is different story for another time...

Anyways... "A Windigo Tale" deserves a 8 out of 10.
