- With Lisa voted off the ranch after the latest weigh-in, six contestants remain on the ranch in the running for this season's biggest loser, those six which include the alliance of Brendan, Frado and Patrick who see their collective chances of making final four good to excellent. Regardless, all will go home after this week, but two will be going home as non-finalists as Alison informs them there will be a red line and a yellow line at this week's weigh-in. This week's pop challenge, introduced by Alison and American Olympic gold medal gymnast Nastia Liukin, is a progressive elimination one using five different pieces of exercise equipment, the winner to receive $10,000. In preparation to go home, Dr. Huizenga gives Frado a medical re-examination, he who was dealing with type II diabetes upon arrival at the ranch 3 months earlier. And Bob and Jillian speak to all the contestants collectively to gage their mindset. Ada seems to have the most issues in returning to a non-supportive home environment. The week's reward challenge is the traditional shedding the weight challenge, the winner's reward being a one pound advantage at the week's weigh-in and a $25,000 home gym. The emotional challenge of remembering what it was like to shed the weight may be as draining as the physical challenge. The results of the weigh-in and the vote between the two contestants below the yellow line end up being highly emotional affairs especially for the two eliminated.—Huggo
- The stakes are higher than ever this week when host Alison Sweeney informs the last six contestants that there will be a red line and a yellow line at the weigh-in this week, and those who stay above both will be in the final four. Special guest Nastia Liukin, a five-time Olympic medalist and four-time World Champion gymnast, meets up with the players for a pop challenge that tests their stamina as they compete in five different exercises. Later, trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels talk to contestants to see how they feel about going home, one contestant gets an impressive health update from Dr. Huizenga, and the players all discuss what they'd do with the grand prize money if they won. Then it's time for the traditional end-of-season challenge in which the players all put their original weight back on and drop it incrementally as they lost it on the show. Later, one player tearfully says goodbye after falling below the red line at the weigh-in, and then two more are up for an elimination that really takes the player voted out by surprise. Finally, the two eliminees return home for emotional reunions with family and friends, leaving the season 10 final four at the ranch.—NBC Publicity
- Open with Alison dropping a bomb: Two people will be eliminated this week.
The alliance of Brendan, Patrick and Frado talks about how perfectly their plan came together. They are convinced the winner will be one of them.
Alison and Olympic champion Nastia Liukin greet the six remaining contestants for this week's pop challenge. The winner will get $10,000. The challenge consists of five exercises. After each one contestant will be eliminated. They are: One mile on an elliptical cross trainer, a half mile run, 1000 meters on a rowing machine, 100 turns of a jump rope and 500 feet on the "Jacobs Ladder" machine.
Not surprisingly Elizabeth goes out in the first round, being edged by Frado for fifth. Ada wins the run easily, leaving the other four to battle for three spots. Brendan is second, follows by Patrick and Frado. Mark is eliminated.
Brendan and Patrick finish 1-2 on the rowing machine, with Frado edging Ada to get the last spot in the next round. Frado is a mess in the jump rope and he loses to Patrick and Brendan by a large margin. Brendan takes an early lead in the Jacobs Ladder challenge and holds on to win the cash. He pledges $1,000 the Warriors in Pink breast cancer charity.
Bob takes a special interest in Brendan at the next workout.
The remaining contestants talk about what they'd do with the money if they win. Brendan gets emotional talking about using the money to help his student. Mark would like to travel with his sick father and also gets emotional. Unemployed Patrick talks about paying off his debt. Ada would also like to start a foundation for kids.
Frado meets with Dr. Huizenga, who tells him that after years of taking eight separate medications for Diabetes he is now almost free from the disease, to the point he doesn't need to take any pills.
Bob and Jillian have a fireside (literally) chat with the contestants. They warn them about losing their motivation and returning to old habits. Mark is worried about his job as a bartender. Ada's worried about her family. The trainers assure all of them they have the ability to succeed.
The challenge this week is for the contestants to carry the weight they started with and do 500 step-ups and run a mile. At nine different points they will be allowed to drop the weight corresponding with the weight they lost that week. First person to raise their flag at the end gets a 1-pound advantage at the weigh-in as well as a $25,000 home gym.
Ada gets out to a big lead in the step-up portion. Brendan is the closest to Ada, but he starts the run well back of her. Patrick starts the run in third. Over a horrendous soundtrack we hear the contestants tell us they'll never go back to where they were before. Ada ends up winning without much of a fight from anybody.
The last chance workout consists of the expected amount of trainer yelling. Jillian targets Ada for a breakthrough.
Before the weigh-in Alison tells us the person with the lowest percentage of weight lost will automatically be eliminated (red line) and the two finishing fourth and fifth will be below the yellow line and face a vote.
Ada and her 1-pound weight advantage are up first. She has lost six pounds (from 185). With the extra pounds she is down 3.78 percent. Elizabeth is up next and has lost the four pounds (192) we all anticipated. Apparantly not having paid attention to her own life the past few months she says "it wasn't what I expected." Her percentage is 2.04.
Mark has lost seven pounds (to 292). This is a percentage of 2.34 and means he and Ada are both safe from the red line. Patrick is up, needing to have lost more than 11 pounds to qualify for the final four. He does it, dropping 12 pounds (to 279). This means Elizabeth will definitely be below the yellow line this week.
Frado is up next. He needs to have lost more than nine pounds to be above the yellow line and safe for next week. He does it with flying colors, dropping 15 pounds to 248. This means he is in the final four and Mark will definitely be below the yellow line.
Brendan is last to weigh in. He needs to have lost more than 10 pounds to be safe for next week and more than 5 pounds to make sure he's ahead of Elizabeth and above the red line. He loses exactly five pounds, meaning he's off the show and Patrick and Frado are going vote-off Mark. (Wait, we have to finish watching? Oh, okay.)
Mark and Elizabeth make their pleas to the remaining contestants. Mark (who has never been below yellow line) says he wants to do it "with all my heart." This is the eighth time below the line for Elizabeth.
Ada says she has to choose what is right for her and votes for Mark. Patrick says this is the hardest vote yet and also votes for Mark. He tells Mark "I'm not sure I can beat you. You're a huge threat." Mark is gonzo.
We see the coming home celebrations for Mark and Brendan. Brendan has lost 23 more pounds since leaving the show. Mark has somehow lost 44 more pounds since leaving the show and looks almost scary-skinny at 248.
