I've watched this series a couple times. Obviously there's a lot I like about it including every one of the characters, except Callie. I just never warmed up to her. She's not terrible in the beginning of this season, aside from all the vocal fry. But - spoiler alert - starting from the end of this season it goes downhill. A good example is Callie's angry jealousy when she finds Jim with another woman at the store. She told him they can't be together and he's respectful of that and moving on. That doesn't stop her from venting her anger all over him and his date and later Carlos.
I realize the main problem is that the writers do the thing where they set up an obvious couple from the very beginning of the show but then come up with more and more elaborate reasons to keep the couple apart for several seasons. In the case of The Glades, the writers opted to do this by making Callie's moods flip wildly between romantic interludes with Jim and then incredibly angry at him, often within the same scene. She will string him along forever, all while telling him she is unavailable. It gets really old fast and is confusing why Jim stays in such an emotionally abusive relationship. I will say none of this is the actress's fault and she does her best trying to soften and warm up Callie. The writing is the issue. Probably having a lot more women involved in creating the show would have helped write a better female character.
Other than that, I do love all everyone else, especially Carlos and Daniel. They're so fun to watch every episode. Add in the Florida scenery, this is such an enjoyable, escapist show.
