The 32 Hertz creative team filmed Dr. Physt in order and released one scene at a time.
Filming took approximately 3 months.
Dr. Physt was not originally intended as a film but was a collection of scenes intended to introduce the lead actor Frank Baransky to the "dED and BURYd" creative team. They decided to make it a short film about halfway through.
There was no script for this movie, so the creative team needed to write each scene as they were filming it.
The character of Magda the Fortune Teller is a nod to Magda Rokosi, a gypsy from the television soap opera Dark Shadows, who was played by the late Grayson Hall. Dark Shadows is a favorite among the writers.
