- A battle erupts over a clue to the hidden immunity idol and one fearless competitor makes a bold move that earns them the upper hand, but the bad behavior doesn't go unnoticed by their tribe mates.
- Previously on...: Ex-NFL coach Jimmy Johnson emerged as the leader of the older tribe, but Marty didn't like it. Last week, Marty and Jill found the hidden immunity idol. At the younger tribe, Shannon, who seemed to be calling the shot, aligned himself with Alina and Kelly B., who had the clue to the hidden immunity idol. The older tribe used the "Medallion of Power" last week to get an advantage in the challenge, but the younger tribe can use it next. Brenda and Naonka teamed up to bounce Shannon, who went on a homophobic tirade at Tribal Council.
La Flor camp: LaFlor got back to camp seemingly secure in the knowledge that they got rid of the right person. They all were claiming a desire to become more divided, but Naonka wasn't buying it. In her testimonial, she said the whole charade was fake and that Alina, Kelly B., and Jud, in particular, should be watching out because they'd aligned with the wrong person and her sights were now set on them.
Espada camp: Hearing howler monkeys in the distance, the older tribe went to see if they could find the monkeys' food source. Jimmy Johnson started "talking" to the monkeys -- he howled and they howled back. This got Marty all in a tizzy and he went off and pouted about having been stuck with the tribe that had a celebrity on it. "Everyone's got glitter in their eyes," he said. "If Jimmy Johnson got up and walked across this lagoon right now, they'd probably believe it." Marty said Jimmy would be a threat, especially in a post-merge situation.
He went to talk to Jill about Jimmy, but she tried to calm him down, reminding him that the merge is far in the future and they didn't want to stir things up when the tribe is feeling strong and united. She then suggested showing everyone the idol in an effort to gain everyone's trust.
La Flor: Jud was feeling "spaced out" after blowing on the fire, cracking people up in the process. But he said later that he wanted to be kept around for more than just laughs. Naonka said she couldn't stand him.
Espada: The whole group sat around eating rice when Marty announced he'd found the idol and wanted the tribe to keep it as a way to ensure they had an advantage when it came time for a merge. Jimmy T. loved it, and Jill said Marty's stock went way up. Tyrone said Marty probably won some team points, but he was still worried Marty was shady. Later, Marty said it was somewhat for show, "but everyone knows the idol can only belong to one person, and that one person is me."
Dan woke up creaky and tired, but he was worried that others in the tribe would think he was the weak link.
La Flor: The "minority" (plus Chase and Kelly Purple) alliance started plotting even before any challenge happened, and were focused on ousting Alina or Kelly B. next.
Immunity challenge: The tribes had to collect 10 barrels, then organize them in a pattern and toss sand bags that had to land one on the top of each barrel. Also at stake was a "Survivor" garden, with fruit, vegetables and spices that should make whatever they're eating taste much better. La Flor decided not to use the Medallion of Power.
The tribes gathered their tribes in roughly the same amount of time and started tossing sand bags at about the same time.
Tyrone got Espada out to a quick 5-2 lead, but La Flor tied it up 6-6 quickly. Jimmy T. said he wanted a shot. La Flor took a 9-6 lead. Tyrone landed one more, for a 9-7 score when Jimmy T. finally got a chance and made one. But it was too late and La Flor won, 10-8.
As they reached for the fruit basket, Kelly B. and Naonka both noticed a rolled up piece of paper under some of the fruit. They each knew the other saw it, so the game planning had to begin.
When they arrived at camp, it was on. They put the basket down and immediately fought for the paper. The rest of the group was upset at the outburst, and because the scuffle smashed some their bananas. Naonka didn't care. She walked away feeling just fine about what she'd done, saying she knew Kelly B. was probably telling the others she didn't even know what was happening and she was just pushed out of the way.
"Go ahead, be a fool," she said. "Because if it happens again, it happens again, and I will pull you again! And hopefully, I'll push you so hard that damn leg will fly off."
Naonka admitted she "got hood," but "not ghetto."
"It's the game. It is a game. She has one leg," she added. "Don't think that I'm going to be nice to you because you have one leg. I'm not going to be nice to you. You gotta be kidding. My name is Naonka, not Fool."
Espada: The older tribe was lamenting its poor performance in the challenge, but Jimmy T. had to speak his mind. He said he thought he had skills that were being wasted. He said the leaders were squelching him because he was a leader. Jimmy T. then said Tyrone didn't want to hand off the tossing duties. Tyrone said it wasn't about him, he just wanted the team to win.
Marty watched the whole thing unfold and said he enjoyed seeing some tension. He was also looking forward to Tribal Council, because the game was finally starting for Espada.
Marty had a chat with Jimmy J., who said he still wants the tribe to be as strong as possible. Marty still didn't trust Jimmy, though, and said in a testimonial that he wanted to get rid of him so that others in the tribe would "lose their daddy" and then have to come to him.
Marty told Jill he wanted Jimmy J. to go, and Jill said she didn't care. In her eyes, Dan, Jimmy and Holly were all equally weak, so she told Marty just to tell her who to vote for and she'd do it. Marty then set off to collect votes, getting Dan and Jimmy T. on board.
Jimmy knew his head was on the chopping block. Marty, meanwhile, went to Tyrone and asked if he could count on him. He asked Tyrone to write Coach's name down, and Tyrone bristled at the idea. He was more interested in voting Danny off. Marty thought Tyrone wasn't thinking the game through.
Marty said he was playing a smart game and added, in his testimonial, that "this is what needs to happen, and it needs to happen now."
Tribal Council: Jeff brought up the idea that Coach was the de facto leader of the tribe. Jimmy T. then started talking about how he and Jimmy J. haven't had any chances to talk. He said he thought Jimmy Johnson -- Super Bowl winning coach, and all -- was threatened by Jimmy T's leadership abilities because, as he put it, "I'm a leader where I come from." Tyrone laughed and said that was "baffling."
On to the topic of the tribe's strength, Jill said they needed the strongest tribe possible. Dan said he thought he was "average" in strength among his tribemates. Jill said Dan was struggling and a bit stiff around camp. Jan said she'd noticed Dan's knee surgery scar. Dan said he was aware that people were watching him, but said, "I'm there."
Jimmy T. said he didn't want to call anyone out, but there are three or four weak players in the tribe. Jeff then did a roll call, of sorts, to ask each member if they thought they, themselves, were weak. They all said they were not weak, until Jimmy Johnson said he was the oldest player and probably one of the weakest. That seemed to surprise everyone.
Marty said he thought people were waiting around instead of playing the game, so he was looking forward to seeing the game get accelerated.
The vote: Jimmy T. voted for Coach, saying he'd never listened to him. Jimmy J. wrote down Dan's name.
Jeff read the votes: Jimmy J., Dan, Jimmy J., Jimmy J., Jimmy J., and Jimmy J.
After getting his torch snuffed, Jimmy turned around and told the whole group, "Win a million dollars, OK?"
Jimmy's last words: "I had fun, but I was miserable the whole time. I still love the game, it's been a great adventure. This is the most stressful time I've ever been through in my life, and I'm including Super Bowls and collegiate national championships. I initially said, 'Keep your strongest members, and I obviously wasn't one of the strongest members."
