Tacked on climax to a hurried movie
kominbhai4 November 2010
The original Harihar Nagar was a classic and its sequel, 2 Harihar Nagar worked pretty well despite its flaws. But this movie is an exercise in mediocrity, further pushed down to the level of being a below average movie due to its horrible finale. Sure its a twist, but it only exists for twist's sake as it does nothing to the storyline and makes the whole movie lose its authenticity. The actors work well except for Jagadeesh, who after a stupendous performance in the sequel, hams it up with rather unfunny jokes, for which Lal has to shoulder the blame. Ashokan does well in the few serious scenes and Mukesh and Siddique are as reliable as ever. The ladies have nothing much to do although Lakshmi Rai does well in the dance inserted to appeal to the masses. Nedumudi Venu gives an excellent performance but is let down by the script that is not sure whether to be a horror movie or to remain as a comedy ultimately resulting it to be a disappointing movie. I've given worse movies better rating but they haven't disappointed me as much as this did.

Fails to impress

Warning: Spoilers
In Harihar Nagar is a movie which a Malayalee would watch over and over again. 2 Harihar Nagar - its sequel came after a long break. But it was accepted very well. A third part is too much to ask.Unless you have something unique which Sethuramayar CBI presented. I would say that Lal's attempt to create a Horror/Thriller/Comedy failed completely. The result is a movie which could be forgotten easily. The story is not strong and most of the scenes are "inspired" from Hollywood horror flicks. The well and walking-crawling-decomposing girl were lifted straight from The Ring.Which was at least an acknowledged copy of the Asian original. The dialogues and acting towards the end more than resembled scenes from 'The exorcist'. Since the whole thing is a drama and not real, it could be justified from the story point of view. But altogether it fails to impress.

A failed movie !!

I was looking for a few laughs when I picked this movie. No matter how hard I looked couldn't find any. Mukesh & Siddiqui were adequate in their roles. Jagdeesh was extremely irritating being overly dim witted and he was supposed to be a dentist. The plot didn't have much to go on while the dialogues not witty at all. I guess the Director decided to cash on the reputation of the Harihar Nagar series so he didn't put much thought to this project. A few scenes copied from "Exorcist" & "The Ring" stole the original feel of the previous movies. At the end I wondered, did I watch a supposed comedy film or a horror movie. Safe to say it failed at both.

Fantastic

I'm puzzled by why some people criticize. This movie is fantastic! The theater was filled with laughter, and everyone stood up with applause at the end of the show. The captivating storyline, brilliant acting, and impeccable direction made it an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance. The atmosphere was electric, with each scene evoking a range of emotions from the audience, from uproarious laughter to heartfelt moments. It's clear that this movie has struck a chord with viewers, as discussions continued long after the credits rolled, with people sharing their favorite moments and eagerly anticipating future screenings.
