- Jubilee Nation is an alternative history political erotic thriller set in a Utopian 1960's fictional black nation, where the Civil War resulted in a different outcome, and the South is ceded to the slaves forming a separate black nation after the war. The story focuses on a tormented black journalist, plagued by an addiction to sado-masochistic sex, who's sexual perversions lead him to discover a plot to overthrow the country when he enlists the help of his faithful white servant to foil the conspiracy. It has elements of love, sex, reverse discrimination, corruption, and violence in its story plot. It is a nostalgic look at what could have been America if it had a radically different history.—Henry Myers
- Jubilee Nation Synopsis It is 1962, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the United African American States of America (UAASA). SYMINTON SMITH is a Negro journalist for Emancipation Magazine, and the nation is amid of electing a new president for the first time in 30 years after its beloved President Marcus Garvey, dies in office under mysterious circumstances. The nation had been established after the South had lost the Great War for Succession in 1862, and as a result, four of its states had been ceded to the freed slaves to solve the "race problem" once and for all. It's dawn and Symington's white manservant, JAMISON FARNSWORTH BOOTH, is preparing him for the day's activities, as he writes down his to do list for the day. Symington had been eager to submit his article commemorating the historic event. His five years at the magazine had failed to produce a story giving him the credibility he desperately craved in the capital of Atlanta, and across the nation. Little did he know at the time, the president's death, his own personal demons, and the nation's election were about to converge around him this day, and that his destiny, and the destiny of an entire country, would soon rest in his hands. When Symington delivers the article to his editor, BENNINGTON DOUGLAS, he overhears Bennington chatting over the phone. He is discussing a profile on presumptive favorite Senator THURGOOD POWELL, who is expected to win in a landslide. Symington implores Bennington to assign him to write the profile. He knows this is the story of his career-the one he has been waiting for to establish his credibility in journalism. His cajoling convinces Bennington to assign him to the story. Symington leaves his office elated. He intends to go home to celebrate, but instead detours to Sherman's Point in the heart of the city's infamous red-light district. Symington does not come home that night, preferring instead to engage in a night of perverted sex. It's dawn, and Jamison is awake when he arrives home. He begins attending to Symington in a ritual he had grown accustomed to, tending to him after his sexual binges, and prepares him for another typical day. Symington has a secret fetish for S&M sex. The discovery of his addiction would discredit any ambition, he has of becoming the renowned journalist he wants to be. Only Jamison knows, but Jamison has secrets of his own. The confidentiality agreement between them has made him financially secure and has given him the anonymity he needs to put his past behind him. Symington's research into the senator starts normally, but soon turns suspicious. Recent photographs begin to reveal a cadre of inconspicuous men in the background at the senator's campaign events. Symington senses something is amiss around the senator, and as digs deeper, his profile becomes a full-fledged investigation into his activities. Symington feels this is his chance to get the story that will make him a preeminent journalist. Symington's investigation begins to get the attention of the men around the senator. He returns home one night, and discovers his dog has been poisoned, with a note nearby saying, "stop your investigation, or this will be you." Symington, spiraling out of control and overtaken by his addiction, starts frequenting an exclusive member's only club called "Club No!" The club's specialty is the sexual fetish of B&D, Bondage and Discipline, where he meets a mistress named DODI, and becomes her sex slave. At the club one night, Symington is involved in a group orgy and takes notice of a unique tattoo on the hand of a mysterious new patron's right hand. All club patrons are anonymous- their identities disguised by masks put on them as sex slaves of their dominatrix. The new patron has Symington curious. He suspects he is someone important because he has a small entourage around him when he enters or leaves the club. Symington decides to defy the threats against him and continues his investigation into Senator Powell. As he pours over photographs of the senator, he notices he has the same tattoo as the mysterious new patron at "Club No!" Symington suspects the patron at the sex club is Senator Powell and believes the men around the senator are blackmailing him. Symington knows he cannot blow his cover and enlist Jamison to help him infiltrate the mysterious patron's inner circle to find out their intentions. Jamison pretends to bartend at the club, and soon discovers the mysterious patron is indeed Senator Powell, and the men around him members of a secret organization of white resurrectionists called the BROTHERHOOD OF THE SALAMANDERS (SS), an underground group of agitators wanting to restore the South to the white race. Jamison had secretly once been a member of the group, having been taken in by them when he was on the run for killing a man who had attempted to rape his sister. He was forced to flee the group five years earlier when he discovered they had planned to murder President Garvey, and feared they wanted him silenced to protect the plot. He is forced to rejoin them and help them eliminate Symington, or else he will be killed. A scheme is devised to lure Symington to a location, where he is to be abducted and killed. Jamison tells Symington it is the Salamanders who are blackmailing the senator and leads him to their hideout. At the location, Jamison turns on Symington and he is abducted. Dodi had overheard Jamison discussing the plot and secretly follows them to the location. As they prepare to shoot Symington, Dodi takes the bullet for him and is killed. Jamison has a change of heart, and turns on the Salamanders protecting Symington, and they manage to subdue the killers. Dodi had tipped off the police, and they capture the remaining members as they attempt to flee. Symington calls a press conference the next day and exposes the Senator's connection to the race group and their plan to blackmail him once in office. The election is held, and the senator is defeated. Symington reunites with Veronica and promises to get help for his addiction. Jamison's murder charge is reduced to self-defense, and he receives a pardon from the new president.
