When shooting started in Moab, Utah, the temperature was 109 °F (43 °C). Towards the end of shooting, the temperature got to a low 9 °F (-13 °C).
This will be Kevin Costner and Jeff Fahey's third western together, Silverado (1985) & Wyatt Earp (1994) being the other two.
Clocking in at 3 hours and 1 minute, this is the longest film in the official selection (out of competition) at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
On May 19, 2024, the film premiered at Cannes Film Festival and received a 10-minute standing ovation. Kevin Costner (Hayes Ellison) was moved to tears.
