Based on real experiences of endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a chronic, and often debilitating menstrual disorder that occurs when tissue called endometrium begins to grow outside of the uterus.
It affects 1 in 9 women of reproductive age with varying severity. The NCS lists it in the top 20 most excruciating diseases (On par with appendicitis & breaking a bone)
Yet on average, it takes 7-10 years before proper diagnosis due to lack of recognition, serious investigation, and understanding that severe period pain is not normal. It currently has no cure and no fixed treatment pathway. but symptoms can be managed with specialist help.
Frank and Sita created this film based on Sita's experience with chronic menstrual illness, to spread awareness for the disease, and attempt to express a degree of the impact it can have on women's lives - who, like Sita, often end up enduring in silence.
