just terrible

The beginning is so horrible that it's funny. The director has no knowledge of how emergencies are handled. I've worked a field where cpr and emergencies were almost a daily occurrence. Those two guys were like dumb and dumber. You don't sit there and slowly put on gloves. And also the use of the stethoscope, lame. Never seen someone check a pulse then use a stethoscope. Couldn't go on from there. If the opening scene is that bad, then the rest is more than likely just as bad. Please directors, do your homework on procedures before making a film, it makes the film horrible to watch, especially by professionals in the field.

Hardly a Christian movie.
I do not understand why this has been recommended as a Christian movie.

The opening scene includes a scene where paramedics cut open the shirt and expose the bra of a young women.

Then there is a scene where evolution is promoted, while the professor mentions inteligent design as an afterthought as an 'and if you believe in that' option.

Then soon after the main protagonist is found to participate in fortune telling.

The main protagonist wears inappropiate clothing in nearly every scene.

Then there is the first scene of extramarital sex, followed soon after by an even more intimate scene.

That was 30 minutes in.

Those scenes alone have the strong potential to lead someone away from Him.

Later the movie endorses Nietzsche (well known to have hated God by declaring: "God is Dead"):

"Nietzsche is arguing that we have peeled God off and put ourselves in his place. Now the magnet in the story is ridiculed by the people in the marketplace for making his search for God known, they laugh at him and make sarcastic excuses."

The warfare displayed is also not a spiritul warfare which could come from the Bible. It is just a copy of the paranormal stuff we find in secular movies, with a touch of God in it and with a happy end.

The whole story might include some good elements, but it is the last I would recommend to anyone I want to bring to God. This movie rather brings people away from Him and builds a very bad foundation for someone who becomes a Christian.

A solid Aussie Indie film

Charge Over You is the story of a young woman struggling to find meaning in her life after a chain of devastating personal events.

For a film with such a modest budget, Charge Over You blows most of today's mainstream cinematic rubbish out the window. It's a solid, well told story that is paired up with Hollywood grade cinematography and a strong supporting cast, namely the talented newcomer, James Lee. The plot twists and turns making it original and unpredictable, which is a breath of fresh air.

This is Director, Richard Steenekamp's second feature length film, and there is little doubt in the years to come he will be a household name.

I'm giving Charge Over You an 8/10.

Okay I'll bite.

Warning: Spoilers
Normally I would've turned this off after the first 20 minutes. But the lead actress, Danya Cox as Sarah does a very capable job portraying a rational but depressed young adult surrounded, and somewhat tormented, by dark forces and recent string of deaths, one of which is her beloved mum.

We first see the villain Dane, effectively played by James Lee, (apparently a demon in human flesh) appear after the death of a young woman during a party. He materializes as the death takes place, assumably, seeking his next victim.

Sarah has just witnessed a friend being rolled out of the party in a body bag...Dane is nearby.

Days later, Sarah is summoned to a nearby women's dorm to partake in a seance. This is sort of predictable given the tension building up around Dane's lingering, predatory, presence and it plays into Sarah's building confusion and depression.

You might think that Dane is just a very weird guy. But not so. He's a demon roaming around looking for an "open door" which opens wide when Sarah relents amidst the bullying girls and plays with the ouija board.

Very shortly after, Dane appears in her bedroom and when confronted by Sarah he flatly states that the door was open. It takes a couple scenes to realize that the door that was opened was a result of Sarah's one time use of a Ouija board.

This would be funny and kind of dumb except that the director does such a good job of making everything so creepy.

As I'm watching I keep thinking to myself, why is this very strange movie on a faith based channel? This fact draws me in even more. But just a heads up, this is not a movie suitable for younger children, not even remotely.

I had no idea what this movie was about as there weren't any spoilers or other information to help me out, which is why am posting a bit of a spoiler.

But end spoiler here. You'll have to watch this creepy movie to find out.

I wouldn't say that this is a movie about Christianity by any stretch of the imagination. It's loosely based on the name of God. But without sound theology. Nevertheless it's a cool movie.

I'm going to give this movie 8/10, too.

Worth Watching

Branded on Pureflix under Spiritual Warfare, nit exactly what I was looking for, but turned into n interesting story, and left me thoughtful at the end. The main character fights with Satan, and is rescued by an angel, but the depiction of the angel was a bit poor. Hanged in though. Interesting allegory.
