  [the doorbell rings] 

  Jon Arbuckle : I'll get it!

  [Garfield watches as Jon opens the door] 

  Jon Arbuckle : Uh, yes?

  [Jon is hit in the face with a lemon meringue pie] 

  Garfield : [gasps]  Oh, great. You finally won something and it's that.

• [Odie is freed from the pound after Garfield sneaks in and gives him back his collar, but Garfield is still locked inside] 

  Pete : A cat? How did a cat get in here? You shouldn't be in here, cat.

  Garfield : True. Open the door and let me out.

  Pete : I'm gonna open the door and let you out... just as soon as Al gets back. He has the only key.

  [Pete leaves] 

  Garfield : Hey, you can't leave me here like some... some dog. I'm not a dog! Dogs are ugly! Dogs are disgusting!

  [a large yellow dog breaks out of his cage] 

  Garfield : Stupid, worthless creatures!

  [all the other dogs begin furiously breaking out of their cages] 

  Garfield : They're idiots!

  [the barking, angry dogs approach Garfield's cage] 

  Garfield : Dogs are all over the place! They're all around me! They're... They're...

  [backs up] 

  Garfield : I... I didn't mean what I said. I was talking about other dogs. You know, uh, I love dogs. In fact, I am a dog, see? Uh, dog.

  [the dogs break open Garfield's cage and Garfield walks out, trying to imitate a dog] 

  Garfield : Bow wow. Ruff, ruff, ruff.

  [sniffs around, then looks at the dogs] 

  Garfield : You're not buying this for a second, are ya?

  Dogs : GRRRRR!

  Garfield : Look, I'd like to take this opportunity to make a sincere apology.

  [Garfield runs away] 

• [after the dogcatcher, Al, brings Odie home to Jon] 

  Jon Arbuckle : So that's where you were, Odie. Which brings us to the next question: Where's Garfield?

  [Odie tries to explain what happened by barking and muttering] 

  Jon Arbuckle : [chuckles]  Yeah, knowing him, he's probably out somewhere having a wonderful time.

  [outside, Garfield is being chased by the angry dogs from the pound] 

  Garfield : Ouch! Help! Oh! Help! Oh!

  [the dogs continue to chase him] 

  Garfield : Help! Get me outta here!
