"That's it then?"

Warning: Spoilers
Publicised as the week of Steph's trial, this turned out to be anything but.The trial hasn't been seen for three episodes now and we haven't been given any explanation as to why that was the case.Instead, we have a lot of characters acting in an idealised manner that causes realism to plummet to its death and the only people who are actually on the right side of the law being portrayed as the villains of the piece. Would Steph really be so selfless as to persuade Lyn to make up with the Kennedys?Would Lyn really go round and apologise after shouting at them to "Go to hell"?Would Karl really be so completely intractable? And the punchline to it all is Susan encouraging Libby to commit perjury because she's joined the "Steph's got a family so she can get away with manslaughter" crowd. The morality of the show seems to be that if you're a nice person you're in the right, hence Sam has to go around being randomly nasty to convince us she's the one in the wrong and putting a dangerous driver in jail for killing someone is a bad thing.

If you're not interested in any of that...well, the only other thing on display is Natasha stealing from the school for no readily apparent reason.Valentina Novakovic adds more depth to the storyline than it really deserves, with a hideously contrived set of circumstances and a pointless character assassination.
