The Consolidated PBY Catalina and Grumman Albatross have very similar specifications. The biggest difference is the Catalina was outfitted for war time roles including bombing and torpedo bombing complete with gunners. The Albatross, built a decade later, was strictly a search and rescue seaplane and therefore had a smaller crew.—David Foss
