This documentary was made over the summer 2010 in Iran and deals with northern folk music and lack of support it received by the Iranian government. It is the first documentary after the Iranian Revolution in 1979 which shows a female singer singing in front of the camera. We have gone through some important issues by interviewing couple of music masters to clarify the dying music in the region, the lack of interest by the Iranian government, youth sub-culture and culture, women rights etc. Generally, we reintroduce all these issues in the current situation. We have chosen Pappeli (Butterfly) as a title which, metaphorically, refers to all musicians who rotate around the candle of folk music until they die.
