This is a short stand-up special made by a comedian I have ever never heard of before talking about a lot of things. Apu isn't quite the focus. It's just the title. Well, a lot of stand-up specials about titles about single stuff. This is a comedian who's very funny and is heavily against political correctness. I haven't seen that many Indian comedians.
He talks a lot about race. I'm glad he tells his audience it's okay to laugh at his material. He makes fun of both white and Indian people! I can understand how someone in a racial minority in this country would have different material. It's unique and we get some edgy jokes with Harvey Weinstein too. Most importantly, he mentions how "The Problem With Apu" was made by Indian-American millionaires complaining about being made fun of by a cartoon character.
He mentions the importance of how everyone is made fun of in childhood! Every bully will find some flaw with you to make fun of, making me remember that the majority are mocked by bullies too. I just found it strange that since Germany was defeated, the United States has attacked Afghanistan, Cambodia, China, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Vietnam, Yemen and Yugosalvia, but not India. Where's representation from those 27 other countries? I'm glad he acknowledges how bad life can get in India. The best part might even be the last minute, where he mentions that foreigners shouldn't be treated better than anyone else, as that is true equality. ****
