Permissions to use all the music by Hole in the film were granted free of charge by Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson as a gift to Patty Schemel, as the budget didn't allow for the expense of music rights.
The film contains rare footage of the late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain at home with his family in 1992 and 1993.
Besides Patty Schemel's own home movies, extensive archival footage and production materials were provided by Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson and Larry Schemel.
Nominated for Best Music Film at the 2013 NME Awards along with Searching For Sugar Man, LCD Soundsystem: 'Shut Up And Play The Hits', Marley, The Rolling Stones: 'Crossfire Hurricane' and Led Zeppelin: 'Celebration Day'.
The poster for this film mimics that of the 1955 film The Man with the Golden Arm (1955), another film about drug addiction.
