- Ignoring a puzzling break-in at Station 4, Murdoch travels to Buffalo to help Dr. Ogden solve the suspicious death of a young cancer patient at a children's hospital.
- Despite a brazen and puzzling break-in at Station 4, a seemingly indifferent Murdoch asks Inspector Brackenreid for a few days off. Puzzled by the request, Brackenreid grants his beleaguered detective's request. It turns out that Murdoch wants to travel to Buffalo, New York, to help Dr. Ogden investigate the death of one of her young cancer patients - a death she suspects may have been a murder committed by one of her hospital colleagues. Ogden's suspicions are bolstered when a hospital nurse is found dead. As Murdoch and Ogden work together to determine if and how the two deaths are linked, Murdoch can't help but feel the flames of romance being rekindled. But does Ogden feel the same way? Meanwhile, back in Toronto, Brackenreid, along with Constables Crabtree (Jonny Harris) and Higgins (Lachlan Murdoch), investigates the seemingly pointless break-in and discovers that there is a lot more going on than meets the eye.—Shaftesbury Films
- Dr. Julia Ogden asks Det. Murdoch to come to Buffalo where she believes a young patient at the children's hospital where she works was murdered. The boy was suffering from leukemia and his death was not totally unexpected but high levels of arsenic show that his death was not from natural causes. When a young nurse is found dead soon after, also with a high dose of arsenic in her system, Murdoch is certain there is a killer in the hospital. When the autopsy reveals that the nurse was killed up to 2 days prior to the young boy, Murdoch has difficulty with the time line. On a personal matter, Julia has some unsettling news for him. In Toronto meanwhile, Insp. Brackenreid and Const. Crabtree try to solve a murder. A bit of photographic trickery proves to be quite useful.—garykmcd
- While Brackenreid, who proudly invited the press to boast the new police camera, is embarrassed by a very messy break-in at the station, which case Crabtree basically solves craftily in Murdoch-style, William. takes rare 'personal' leave, telling nobody why. Instead of visiting his nun sister, as George guesses, he answers a mysterious call for help from Julia at her new job, pediatric surgeon in Buffalo, NY. Ogden rightly suspects leukemia patient Digiarno's death is a poison murder, but dares not confront her bosses, nor compromise fund raising, so passes William off as wealthy donor. They sneakily perform a partial autopsy and search the victim's dorm, gathering enough evidence to chance the hospital chief's mind: his pioneering transplant therapy was turned lethal by interacting heroin OD. After a suspected nurse is murdered, William calls a marker to join the Buffalo PD investigation led by his friend, local detective Callahan. Dorm bully Ezra Fielding is eliminated as suspect, but provides useful info, like the victim's notebook and manipulated cuddly rabbit. A trap is set for the staff.—KGF Vissers
