- The wars overseas come home to confront a carefree American sitting idly in a cafe, and his anti-heroic act in the cafe changes a nation.
- The Killer of a Café Owner is an allegorical, non-synch sound short about American political apathy. When George, a carefree young American, begins having strange premonitions in an Arabic-American café, everything begins turning upside down. A terrifying invisible explosion rips through the air outside the café, the power goes out, and everyone's computers and gadgets start going haywire. As the people begin to rise in protest and investigate, a mysterious, luminous TV emerges from the walls, and lulls the people back into their seats. China strolls by the café as a passerby, looking in at the dollar bill on Georges table. Suddenly, a shadowy force brushes by Georges table, spilling his coffee all over. The coffee becomes crude oil and floods the dollar, drowning George Washington. With the dollar devalued, and people hypnotized under the power of the TV, a young U.S. soldier holds up the café for a cup of the coffee, and brutally terrorizes the Café Owner. The violence escalates, but nobody turns from the TV, even as it broadcasts the very holdup scene happening right there inside the café.
Suddenly, in an unconscious burst of heroism, George jumps from his seat and rips the TV out from the wall. As he hoists the TV overhead like some mythological Atlas, the shocked cafe looks on, awaiting the next move of the hero. As consciousness of the magnitude of his act begins seeping up, he loses control of the TV and the falling TV strikes the Café Owner in the head, a fatal blow. As the TV crashes down, the uniform disappears from the Soldier, and the people are jolted awake. George, standing dazed and shell-shocked over the dead Café Owners body, is now wearing the uniform. The Barista discovers the Café Owners body and cries angrily for help, but nobody notices, they gather around George and touch his face. Branded with the uniform, George walks out toward an unknown horizon.
