Very few shows get me excited by the first episode these days, but this one definitely did. A lot of laughs throughout and a simple romance story is going to unfold, but in a relatively unique way. Very grim with a dog nearly dying and being on death's door, but the two reluctantly save it and chaos ensues.

Definitely excited for seeing how this all plays out but a great start. Very strong chemistry between the two leads (I wonder why that would be the case?).

There aren't a lot of great Australian comedies out there, but the ones that are good like Upright and now hopefully Colin from Accounts, end up being really good.

The Dog and The Flasher.

Medical student Ashley almost steps out in front of a car, Gordon becomes distracted by her act of gratitude for letting her pass, and hits a dog, a visit to the vets throws the pair together.

Now, I have to be honest, I really did enjoy this, it's another Australian comedy that I found incredibly relatable, it's definitely cringe humour, it's full of awkward moments, but I laughed out loud several times, that's rare these days.

Fair play, that dog really is cute, the name Colin from Accounts really did suit him.

Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer worked tremendously well together, I imagine there are going to be plenty of laughs in the weeks ahead.

Cracking start.

9/10.

Hoping this gets better. Few laughs.

This Australian 'comedy' got a great review in The Guardian TV pages based on this first episode. Unfortunately it doesn't live up to that review. The first problem is the premise. Two strangers assume responsibility for a stray, unchipped pooch that wanders into the road and is hit by one of their cars. It's vets bills will be 12k and it will require looking after for ever. Neither character felt they were the sort to do that, but the script shoehorned them in to doing it. OK - suspension of diisbelief. But, this big part of the first episode was meant to be funny, as indicated by the laugh pause (also cringy). It wasn't.

Then there were the characters. Lady, trainee doctor still presents as cookie, disorganised woman going through breakup. Stereotype alert! The bloke is sensible businessman who despite his two friends advice ploughs on with this situation, when he could get out. Still no laughs.

The are a couple of funny moments which pass quite quickly. Maybe this will get better, but I hope the dog dies.

Colin and Ashley's lives collide as his car hits a dog, while she crosses the road and flashes a boob at him.

Now both need to decide whether to put the doig down or pay 12000 Australian bucks to fix him.

Ashley opts for the latter but finds out that her landlord has a not pet policy.

Colin brews beer. Ashley is a medical trainee. Colin from Accounts is the name given to the stray dog.

The first episode of this Australian comedy is the set up of the basic premise. It certainly contains some toilet humour.

There seems to be an emphasis on awkward and cringe. There was not much in terms of laugh out humour but the characters seem charming enough.

I like how it has all come about, the relationship formed through the dog, albeit someone else's dog. Gordon's rather forthrightly insensitive and presumptuous, yet the show's PC around the edges, making the character not genuine, solely for reactions, laughs etc. The writing seems similar to that of "Upright." Bit off-putting while I was eating... Ashley quite resourceful though. The episode's not entirely funny, overdone at times, but not bad either. Problem is I'm not sure I like these people enough and I think it may get worse from here, but watchable shows these days are hard to find.

"Text me if you see the other one."
