Less than a year after announcing dual leadership at the production and distribution venture WonderHill Studios, veteran producers Bob Yari and Marvin Peart are parting ways.
The pair will disband as co-CEOs of the company, though Yari will remain an investor. The split is amicable, individuals familiar with the company said, and the men feel more comfortable moving forward with their own distinct visions. Peart will stay on as WonderHill CEO and oversee day-to-day operations moving forward.
Yari has formed a new production and releasing engine called Magenta Light Studios. His goal is to release three to five films per year in theaters. Both companies are presently active in the acquisitions space, a market perpetually in need of independent players that can compete with streaming giants and legacy studios.

MTV’s new series “Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club” strands a bunch of hard bodies in Greece, throws them all in a house together and tasks them with a job that basically amounts to drinking and partying. The results are predictably sloppy.
In a similar spirit to that of Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules,” “Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club” is ostensibly about a group of hot young employees trying to make a name for themselves under their semi-famous boss. But also like Bravo’s hit “Housewives” spinoff, “Beach Club” is much more interested in the dumb things its stars do and say than their actual abilities to do their job. And lucky for us,...

But also like Bravo’s hit “Housewives” spinoff, “Beach Club” is much more interested in the dumb things its stars do and say than their actual abilities to do their job. And lucky for us,...

That was a low blow. Earlier this week, former Teen Mom Og star Farrah Abraham announced that she will be part of a celebrity boxing match this November and she has yet to find an opponent. Recently, former Mob Wives star Drita D'Avanzo made it clear that she would be down to go one-on-one with Farrah in the ring but she's not the only one — Farrah's former Teen Mom franchise co-star Kailyn Lowry said she'd like to get in on the action. The already-troubled acquisition of The Weinstein Co. and its assets by private equity firm Lantern Capital is facing another bump in the road: a $110 million lawsuit.
In a suit filed against Lantern on Monday, Marvin Peart, an executive producer on TWC’s “Mob Wives,” says that he helped orchestrate the deal for Lantern to buy TWC, for which he says Lantern agreed to pay him $10.5 million, and give him a seat on the new TWC board of directors. Peart says that Lantern reneged on its agreement with him after the deal was reached, and that it did so in part because he is African-American.
His lawsuit accuses the Dallas-based firm of breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation and institutional racism.
