A teenage outsider, bullied and sexually harassed by their peer group, pressured to conform by an exasperated mother, is inspired by a local woman, also treated as an outsider but with whom there is clearly a psychic connection, takes steps to appear willing to conform but manages to hold true to themself.
Short, necessarily limited in scope, but cramming a lot into its brief runtime, this is a terrific slice of life and guaranteed to raise a smile without ever coming close to outstaying its welcome. If it doesn't make you grin broadly, you might want to reevaluate what you think cinema is for.
