More unrealistic with each episode

What happened to Jackie? She was a somewhat goofy character but at least had emotions and thoughts that resembled a human once upon a time. Now? Just a blabbering mess.

Once again the impossible 2-year old shows up. Why does she have an accent? How does that make sense when she hasn't seen her dad since she was speaking? Then again, why is she speaking in full sentences at all? She's 2.

Why has The Conners retconned Landford's proximity to Chicago? It was never a Chicago suburb in Roseanne.

To the episode itself, the plot lines for this series have become so boring. Who cares if Darlene and Becky move out? John Goodman / Dan is the only good actor / character left, better not write him out.

I can see why the review option isn't listed yet after a stinker episode like this one.

Warning: Spoilers
The buying a house plot is as old as the Ben/Darlene storyline. You gotta close these plotholes up. I can talk about storylines from the original "Roseanne" like a snap of the fingers. "The Conners" is pretty forgettable. You pull up an episode from last season and ask me what it's about and I'd say I don't remember or it was probably about Ben and Darlene's relationship woes. There's one thing that stuck out. Didn't Roseanne die on the mattress, right? So unless the mattress is down the street and she died down the street, wouldn't that mean she died IN THE HOUSE? So I don't really understand all this hand wringing about Darlene and Becky looking into buying the funeral home to live in (?) and they're deciding against it because there's just been so much pain and grief inside the funeral home. They're also strangers, girls. It honestly doesn't come close to a parent dying at home in their bed. I don't know, man. Maybe I need some of what Jackie's on to be able to wrap my head around this stuff.

And speaking of Jackie...my goodness, it's absolutely cringey watching Jackie act like an absolute idiot. The character literally has no redeeming qualities anymore. She's there to be an idiot. I couldn't help thinking of a plot from "Roseanne" when Jackie was the "perfume sniper" and she's complaining about how much she hates the job and she says she's annoying. I'd rather have Jackie be a perfume sniper than whatever the hell they're doing to the character. I realize the original "Roseanne" had Jackie becoming wacky in the later seasons but what was funny then isn't funny now. I'm honestly surprised Jackie has ANY customers at the Lunch Box because she's almost at a territory of climbing on top of a counter and peeing in a pot of stew on the stove because "I THOUGHT IT NEEDED SOMETHING TANGY! Oh crap, I'm burning myself on this hot stove!"

So anyway, Jackie's plot involved her trying to drum up business for The Lunch Box and Ben kindly offered to help her shoot an ad on his phone. Wacky Jackie went into overdrive for this episode.

Let's go back to the funeral home plot line. Louise decides to rope Dan into the craziness by suggesting they take the land the funeral home is located on and Dan could build them a house on the land (!?) Maybe it would've been better if Dan had been the one to suggest himself instead of Louise basically trying to kill Dan in order for Darlene and Becky to have a house to themselves. Is she trying to get his life insurance payout? Will that be an upcoming storyline? Dan can die and she can get his benefits.

Warning: Spoilers
Some good comedic work from Jackie, but her storylines are so awful at this point.

The Conners is really limping to the finish line in its 4th season.
