- Robb vows to get revenge on the Lannisters. Jon must officially decide if his place is with Robb or the Night's Watch. Daenerys says her final goodbye to Drogo.
- Robb's banner-men declare him to be King of the North. At Castle Black, Jon decides to desert the brotherhood and join Robb's army. Sam and his other friends have something else in mind. Having been rescued by a Night's Watchman, Arya begins her travels north to the wall. Impressed by Tyrion's good advice, Tywin sends him to King's Landing to act as the King's Hand while he is occupied with the war. Daenerys learns that she has lost the baby and realizes the error she made in trying to keep Drogo alive. - Yoren brings Arya with him and cuts her hair, giving her the appearance of a boy as a recruit of the Night's Watch. Master Luwin tells Bran and Rickon about their father's death. Robb is declared The King in the North by the lords that are following him. Tywin orders the cunning Tyrion to go to King's landing to serve as the Hand of the King as his substitute. Daenerys wakes up and learns that he son is dead and all the warriors have left them behind since Drogo is near death. Further the witch Mirri Maz Duur tells that she has revenged all the evil Drogo did to her city and people. During the night, Daenerys suffocates Drogo with a pillow. At the Wall, Jon Snow learns that his father was murdered and decides to leave Castle Black. However his friends pursue him and convince him to return. Daenerys prepares a funeral pyre for Drogo and for burning also the witch. She also puts the three dragon eggs on the pyre. Then she walks into the flame and is consumed by the fire. - The North secedes from the Seven Kingdoms and proclaims Robb as king. With Jaime as the Starks' prisoner and Robert's two brothers, Stannis and Renly, each challenging Joffrey's claim to the throne, Tywin appoints Tyrion as acting King's Hand, while Tywin fights to defend Joffrey's reign. Jon attempts to desert the Night's Watch to avenge Ned and join Robb, but his Night's Watch brothers convince him to honor his oath. Jon joins an expedition to search for Benjen Stark beyond the Wall. Yoren, a Night's Watch recruiter, smuggles Arya out of King's Landing disguised as a boy, while Joffrey intends to crown Sansa his queen, despite executing her father. Daenerys's baby is born deformed and dead, and Drogo is left in a vegetative state by the witch's treacherous magic. Daenerys compassionately ends Drogo's life. She places the three dragon eggs on Drogo's funeral pyre and sets it afire, also burning the witch alive. Ignoring Jorah's pleas, she walks into the flames. When the embers die the following morning, Daenerys is found in the ashes, unharmed, flanked by three newly-hatched baby dragons. Jorah and other witnesses kneel before her.
- Yorena, Night's Watch recruiter, helps Arya escape from King's Landing after Ned's execution. Ned had noticed Arya in the crowd and signaled Yoren to rescue her to safety. Yoren cuts off Arya's hair to make her look like a boy and decides to take her North. Arya takes the name Arry, and has to travel with 20 other men, whom Ned had released from prison to travel to the North wall and serve as the Night's watch. They are the worst of the worst. Gendry (Robert's bastard son) is amongst the group travelling with Yoren. Gendry says that his master got sick of him, and banished him to the North wall. Bran notices that Raven in his dreams has a third eye. The raven tells Bran to follow him to the crypt. Bran visits the Crypt with Osho when he is awake. News reaches Winterfell that Ned Stark has been executed.
Catelyn still is under the impression that Arya and Sansa are prisoners in King's Landing. The North secedes from the Seven Kingdoms and proclaims Robb as their king. Robb's allies refuses to accept Stannis or Renly as their King. Joffrey is a cruel King. He takes sadistic pleasure in giving harsh punishments for the smallest crimes. He is harsh on Sansa as he is being forced to marry her by Cersei. He puts Ned's head on a stake and displays it prominently inside the palace, so Sansa always has to see it. Then, Joffrey forces Sansa to look at Ned's severed head. Sandor is kind to Sansa and tells her to give Joffrey what he wants. Joffrey plans to make Sansa his queen despite her father's execution.
Jaime admits to Catelyn that he pushed Bran out of the tower window. She wants to know why and Jaime wont answer. With Jaime gone, Cersei is sleeping with her cousin Lancel. with Ned dead, The Lannisters know that there is little chance of peace with the Starks. With Jaime captured by the Starks and Robert's brothers challenging Joffrey's claim to the throne, Tywin appoints Tyrion as acting King's Hand, while Tywin fights to defend Joffrey's reign against Robb and his armies. Tywin wants Tyrion to control Joffrey and Cersei and stop them from making more blunders like the case of killing Ned. Tywin finally starts to trust Tyrion's judgment. Twyin prohibits Tyrion from taking his whore Shae to the court, but Tyrion defies his father's command and takes Shae along.
Grand Maester Pycelle is fucking one of Petyr's newly recruited whores, Ros. He is not as frail as he lets on to be. Jon plans to desert his post at the Wall to avenge Ned and support Robb, but his friends convince him to honor his oath and stay. The Lord Commander says that Jon cant do anything to bring Ned back. He says that rangers are reporting whole villages abandoned North of the wall, and fires raging in the mountains. The wild-lings are reporting tribes gathering at a secret location. They are preparing for something. Jon then joins a Night's Watch expedition to find Benjen beyond the Wall. The Lord Commander wants to know what is happening.
Daenerys learns that her unborn son is dead (he was born deformed (scaled like a lizard, blind and leather wings like that of a bat.. Inside he was full of worms) as a result of the Witch's magic and died soon thereafter), and Khal Drogo has been left in a vegetative state due to the witch's treacherous magic. Jorah knows that a Khal who cannot ride is no Khal, The Dothraki follow only the strong. Daenerys is livid with Mirri, the healer, as she defended her from the Dothraki warriors. But Mirri says this was her revenge against Khal for burning her temple, and 3 of the Dothraki raping her before she was "saved" by Daenerys. Mirri is convinced that by killing Daenerys's son, she has prevented future bloodshed and wars.. Daenerys ends Drogo's life. She places her three dragon eggs next to Drogo and lights a funeral pyre. She burns the witch alive on Drogo's pyre and walks into the flames herself. When the embers die the following morning, Daenerys rises, unharmed, flanked by three newborn dragons. Jorah and other witnesses kneel before her.
