Good but could of been better.
Therealmoviereviewer30 March 2022
I liked this episode but I think they could of left the sex out of it. Because it's a doctor show. Not about sex. But I get it it's supposed to be kinda a comedy this episode is.

A light and funny episode about love and sex
valeriapaezm30 March 2022
This episode was the much needed relief after all the drama the show has given. It was funny, sweet and very real. People talk and we, essentially, are all here because of sex. It shouldn't be taboo, it should be something beautiful and the work of television is being relatable. Many have had a sexual problem and can definitely relate with this episode. Kudos to Freddie and Paige, they are amazing and carry the show beautifully. Always combining comedy and drama in the most amazing ways.

The funniest episode so far!
ritagabriela-7933229 March 2022
Has been a while we needed a episode which bring to us such laughs... we know tgd is about drama, but a little funny arc, what's wrong with that?? It's funny, and light, and about something everyone - don't tell otherwise cause it won't be true - talk about: sex! Or dry spell! 🤣 shoutout to Paige and Freddie who were so great as always! Their dynamic is amazing!

The 45-Year-Old Virgin?
regretthebroken29 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was pretty awful. A woman has hemorrhoids and refuses to get operated on because she's a virgin and conveniently chooses that she has to lose it as soon as she has a serious medical issue.

Shaun and Lea haven't had sex in NINE days, he catches her pleasuring herself, then goes off the rails harassing his co-workers about the issue per the usual.

Then, a woman comes to the ER with her fiancé thinking she has pneumonia, which ends up being some kind of fungus. Following the diagnosis, the woman reveals she has no insurance and is undocumented.

Thus episode tried to do way too much in 45 minutes, as well as touch on too many issues without ever truly discussing them in a way that felt meaningful. A common issue with this show I've picked up on is that the writers focus on a common theme for an episode (racism, sex, being transgender, farting) and it becomes gratuitous until it's annoying. This episode definitely falls into that category.

Great episode !
jayriweasley30 March 2022
A super interesting episode of things that already in 2022 should not be taboo and be called as they should. It was great that themes about sexuality were explored from various situations and that valid representations were shown. As an asexual woman, I agree that various topics in this area are discussed so that more people feel related. And on top of that the episode was super funny. I love shaun.

Unbelievable. Nothing but sex
shuny29 March 2022
The entire episode was nothing but exploring everyone's sex life with a few unusual twists thrown in. The original premise of the show was Shaun's autism, now called ASD instead. Shaun rarely gets to show his talents anymore and this episode hit rock bottom in that regard. In addition, Dr. Lim should have known her patient had a fungus infection, not cancer. Didn't she listen to the history?

Euphoria or The Good Doctor(?)
GabsFraser29 March 2022
Say that Dry Spell was explicit and compare to euphoria is such nonsense, first bc the Good Doctor is on prime time, so it's responsibilities of the parents to filter en what their kids will watch. Dry Spell was more than the "sex theme", it was light and funny! To make us laugh, and the proposal was reached.

not for The Good Doctor
chrisyen-7430129 March 2022
Sex is wonderful, we shouldn't avoid to talk about sex. BUT ! Not in The Good Doctor, this episode was too explicit and over-the-top. You are doing The Good Doctor not Sex Education. The worst episode ever. A big contrast with the last episode.

Five seasons, I'm out
edblackham30 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Sex sex sex sex. I get it, it's Hollywood and that's all they care about. They forgot about the rest of America. I loved season one. Season two was good. It's been going downhill since and this season five has been horrible. I even put up with the horrible Epicure debacle. But stupidly I kept going until this stupid episode and now I just deleted it from my DVR. We didn't leave you, you left us. Did you fire all of season one's writers or what. Even Freddie hasn't done much to make it better.

The only episode this season I actually enjoyed
gmdkfm31 March 2022
I almost quit watching after the horrible storylines this entire season, but I really liked this one. It has been a long time since there has been any of the lighthearted or almost comical situations like there was in this episode. That entire Salen arch was just beat to death, and it became pretty clear early on how that was going to end. I hope there are going to be more episodes like this one.

Here we go again...
thattravelgirl29 March 2022
Does Hollywood not get that we don't want to be preached at while watching tv? Especially by those who famously (and infamously) don't practice what they preach. The first 3 seasons weren't so bad. I thought I would give it 1 more season to see. After tonight, I'm gone. Between the talk about those ILLEGALLY in our country and everyone's sex life, I think it was a final sign to run.

S5.E12 - Really Fun Episode [9/10]
panagiotis19932 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S5. E12) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 12 ''Dry Spell''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Shaun is worried because he hasnt had any sex for 9 days? Doesnt sound like a huge problem. This woman is 45 years old and a virgin? I feel bad for her. Shaun trying to get Lea in the mood for sex if funny. Lol, Lea is sleeping? That means no sex for Shaun. The guy that will have sex with the female virgin patient seems like a really good guy, I hope he is. Im glad Dr. Andrews is willing to listen to the stuff. It seems like Lea's and Shaun's idea about the sex schedule works. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

Better than what the prude hypocrites rate it for, this episode SLAPPED
boiuluvh26 April 2022
I loved this episode and I dont think it deserves the rating other lame reviewers gave it. I finished this episode thinking this is one of my favorite episodes so far of the series. It was hilarious and all the character development all around while keeping things light and enjoyable even if addressing serious topics. But also the writing this episode had so many real & comedic moments like poor Glassman not being able to reach the climax of eating his food due to all the interruptions during lunch from other faculty & Shaun. I was laughing through it all til credits and I loved it. I love this show.

Lost a lot of my love
frosted_tearz29 March 2022
One of the worst episodes. Filler. Feels like the writers are somewhat running out of ideas. Sex is okay and don't mind it being talked about it here but it just felt a little too much in this type of show in the way that they did it. Was looking forward to the humour but just found it fell flat. And what is so wrong about being a Virgin? Also twisted Biblical history which this show is so above. You're better than that Good Doctor. Lost a lot of my love for this show that seemed to be different.

There is a first for everything...
maketomusic31 March 2022
.. And this show became the first show i stopped watching in the middle of an episode and decided to NEVER watch again.

I liked the episode overall, but when the writers of the show decided to make up that King David (who had the same blood as Jesus himself) were Gay..

You should definitely be ashamed of yourself, i guess you wont get cancelled because the majority of the world today is not following our Savior Yeshua's teachings any longer. But i will not be a hypocrite when i kneel tonight and say my evening prayer.

You should however know that i were a fan of this show since the pilot aired..

No more
davidnnita6 April 2022
This had been one of our favorite shows. We won't be watching anymore. Disgusting show! Should have R or X rating. No more. We even paid for the season without commercials. Never again. I hope this is the last season. Really disappointed!

Offensive and heartbreaking
e-miles-chapman23 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
All the other 1 star reviews are focusing on the amount of sex in this episode, but that didn't bother me. I liked this episode. At least, until a certain scene.

Everyone talking about how funny this episode is are laughing at a running joke made at the expense of real women with a real, painful, and isolating condition, which The Good Doctor chose to intentionally misrepresent for a laugh. Vaginismus is not a condition that causing the penis to get stuck after some fun sex, it's a condition that usually make penetration impossibly painful. Some women can't even use tampons because of this condition. We can't get Pap smears. We can't maintain romantic relationships because sex either isn't possible or is akin to torture. It is not funny. It is also considered a fairly common condition that goes under diagnosed due to medical sexism-something spoken about in a previous episode of this show, but the writers obviously don't actually care about, because Dr Murphy describes it as being extremely rare in humans. The episode ends with Shaun and Lea laughing about vaginismus (or what they offensively labelled as such).

This medical show, which had previously made an effort to represent all addressed medical conditions in a sensitive manner, chose now to make a joke out of an under diagnosed, under-talked about condition. This will lead to people misunderstanding vaginismus, and maybe even mocking or mistreating sufferers, all for a laugh.

I'm disgusted. And heartbroken. This should never have happened, and the writers of this episode should be ashamed.

Warning: Spoilers
Now this time we have a woman lying to a loving fiance.. since it is a woman, sorotity makes people say nothing about her actions.. had it been the other way around, we know we would have doctors preaching how men are such bad monsters that dare lie to such beautiful creatures

anyway, the rest of the case was lame too.

Grey's clone
ajwiiiaw30 March 2022
Why are you going down the political sewer? Nothing but sex in this episode and now the lgbtabcdefg nonsense. This show is now following the same story line as greys which we stopped watching years ago. Get back to what you were doing.

Doctors do not push meds, start IVs, take BP, etc... Those are nurse jobs.

Unorthodox and Disgusting episode
itsyadiracruz9 April 2022
I have always been a big fan of the good doctor so much that we started watching it together as a family. It has always been funny and family friendly but this episode was simply out of character and not necessary! I honestly don't what happened to the show or if I'll keep watching.

Going downhill fast
jamianna-295091 April 2022
The last few episodes have been getting gradually worse. Bad acting points, unrealistic hospital management-seems like the main cast do everything from anesthesia to emergency room-can they not afford a bigger cast?? Where are the nurses??? To top it all off, the entire episode was about sex. Please! Enough is enough!!!

I'd give it a Zero if I could
dubielu3 April 2022
Entire episode dealt with various characters' sex lives. It was like watching an R rated movie. Get back to the premise of this series: Shawn's autism and his intellect and how he deals with them in a hospital setting and how his colleagues help and support him ( and all his faux pas don't have to be about sex). Keep this up, and I won't be watching.

Down hill from here
meganquandt6 April 2022
Every time I watch a new episode I am a little more disappointed in the direction they decided to take. Season 1-4 was great, season 5 nothing but down hill. Its not medical drama anymore, its a straight up soap opera. I am hoping it gets better, but I don't think I will watch season 6.
