Laure: A Love Story (2007)
** 1/2 (out of 4)
Decent featurette features Al Cliver and Annie Belle discussing their work on the sexploitation flick LAURE. Cliver is on video while Belle is an audio only interview, which was recorded sometime around 1998 or 1999. Considering I wasn't a major fan of LAURE I found some of the material here to be rather uninteresting but for some reason the producers seemed to want to make this a tabloid bit because the two mainly talk about their love affair before, during and after the production of the film and why things eventually broke off. Both give brief comments about Linda Lovelace being hired and fired and we also get some mixed comments on who actually directed the film. Belle goes into more personal detail including talking about her battle with alcoholism and her negative opinions on the film. She also talks about how upset she was when people would view these sexploitation pictures and then think she must be like the cheap characters that she played. Cliver, on the other hand, talks about how he got involved in acting.
