Creator Rain Ali'i'Kai was able to convince both the Port of Seattle and the Washington State Ferries system to allow him to film at Sea-Tac International airport and aboard one of their $86 million dollar ferries for $100. Was told they have never approved such a thing, but were so impressed with his professional presentation of the project.
Filming waited 35 minutes on 5th Avenue in the opening scene for a city bus, cars and pedestrians to pass the camera for a perfect realistic choreographed shot of background action as Callahan makes his way to work.
Rain Ali'i'Kai spent 86 days in development and pre-production by himself securing all locations, permits, casting his own actors, gathering props (including the replica blue diamond from his fireplace mantle), cars (including his own police interceptor), wardrobe and production insurance.
ADR was done in a free private room at the public library for a dead silent sound environment.
