It's a shame Oliver and Carmella's visit was so brief and the Napiers' departure a bit rushed, with no time to tie up plot threads that have been left dangling frustratingly for weeks.Rebecca's final confrontation with Paul feels a bit pointless but there are some nice moments here, like Michael convincing Rebecca to leave and Declan's one-sided farewell to Kate.Paul has never been more one-dimensional, with his pleading with Rebecca feeling more like a desperate attempt to give him motivation than anything heartfelt. And the final scene, of Susan being patronising and sanctimonious towards Kate, doesn't exactly bode well for the future.
The other plot line, of Kate suddenly wanting to know how many girls Mark's dated, is a bit throwaway and marred by Jade at her most irritating, as she acts all smug with Lucas over a situation that she created and he tried to handle the best he could.
