- After the latest weigh-in when Justin was voted off the ranch, Kaylee feels like she needs to clear the air about her own premeditated and failed attempt to be voted off. That emotional encounter is followed by another when the contestants revisit the day they found out that they were going to be on the show. Alison also makes them think about "team 12", the team that didn't quite make it on the show, or does this team make it on? The pop challenge has the contestants balancing balls on boards. The winning team of the pop challenge receives a one minute advantage at the team challenge, with the losing team leaving the ranch for the week with a $1,000 budget to be spent on predetermined "menu" items. That losing team has an emotional discussion with their trainer about their choices before leaving the ranch. Bob takes the blue team to the Ánimo Jefferson Charter Middle School to work out with the students there. The team challenge is an old fashioned Easter egg hunt with 5,000 eggs in total, with one golden egg as a special prize for the contestant who finds it. The winning team receives an invitation to the world premier of Hop (2011), with each team completing the challenge going to a private advanced screening. The golden egg special prize weighs heavily on the minds of all the contestants at the weigh-in. A few contestants are called out on behavior during the weigh-in.—Huggo
- Open with everyone miserable about Justin having been voted off last week. Kaylee tries to explain where she's coming from and Moses emphasizes that the game play stuff needs to stop. Rulon says he needs to rely on himself with his buddy gone.
Alison meets the gang in the gym. She shows them a video from three months ago when they first arrived on campus. Everybody is impressed with how far they've come in such a short time and it gives them an opportunity to find perspective. Alison then references the teams who just missed the cut and the back door opens.
In walks what Alison calls "the twelfth team," mother and son Vance and Leann from Oregon. We see their bios and they sound quite a bit like the other teams did at the beginning of the season. We see video of Alison telling them that they had just missed the show but would have a chance to get back on down the road. If they can beat Kaylee's (who has the lowest percentage of weight loss of the remaining contestants at roughly 25 percent) percentage they are on the show.
Vance is up on the scale first needing to have lost more than 95 pounds. He isn't even close, having lost 30 (to 349). Vance tells Alison his weight loss has been a struggle. Leann gets on the scale and is told she needs to have lost at least 80 pounds. She also comes up short, having lost 45 pounds (to 270) and is emotional at missing her opportunity.
Time for a pop challenge. Two members of each team will balance two balls on a piece of wood with a hole in the middle. They must take them across a field until they drop them into a basket. The losing team must spend the week off campus and the winning team gets a one-minute advantage at this week's challenge. Olivia & Moses will be representing Blue, Rulon & Jay for Black, Kaylee & Austin for Green and Courtney & Jen for Red.
Green seems to figure it out right away and gets out to a decent lead over everybody else. But Black comes roaring back and with no other team higher than 5, they tie the score at 8-8. Both teams score once on their next trip but Green edges Black for the win. Black is second and the battle is now for staying on campus. Blue team breaks a 9-9 tie as Red team loses the challenge.
The two-lady Red team has to make its choices for the week. They have $1,000 to divide between fitness and food. Jen and Courtney elect to spend $300 on groceries, join a gym ($300), an hour's worth of phone calls ($200), a massage ($100) and one night of dining out ($50). Alison notes they've chosen not to see Brett during the week (each day with your trainer is $200) and it seems Courtney isn't sure about that decision.
Brett finds out about Courtney and Jen's decisions before they leave campus. He's not happy they spent money on a massage, phone calls and a night out. Courtney starts to fall apart, clearly hating the choices. Brett writes out their workout for the week.
Courtney and Jen see they're staying at a pretty sweet house for the week.
Bob and Jillian hear about the pop challenge and Red team not buying Brett. We cut to Courtney and Jen getting their spa treatment.
Cara is furious at Green for throwing the weigh-in last week. She focuses her training wrath at Kaylee, who says she wants to prove this week that she's worth the effort.
Moses tells Jillian he misses the boxing portion of his training. Jillian is all for the idea.
Bob gets Rulon to perform a handstand against a wall as an effort to motivate him. After several attempts he finally figures it out.
The Red team talks about their decisions. We see them at the gym taking a spin class, cooking for themselves and dining out. They sound confident.
Alison meets the contestants on a hillside for this week's challenge. They will be going on "the mother of all Easter egg hunts." Laying in the field are 5,000 dyed eggs in their team colors. Each team must collect 600 team eggs, with two-member Red only having to find 400. The winning team gets tickets to a movie premiere. There is one golden egg in the field, but Alison doesn't say what it will mean. Green heads out one minute before everyone else because of their pop challenge victory.
The teams start hunting, sans pockets. Green is out to a big lead early. Kaylee notices that Black and Blue are focused on the golden egg. Rulon admits that Black team's top goal is to find the special egg. Olivia finds the golden egg. Green and Red come to the finish neck-and-neck. Green wins the challenge a few minutes ahead of Red. The Black team finishes third, with Blue in fourth. When Olivia opens the egg she learns that she now has the only vote at this week's elimination assuming Blue is not up for vote. She's not happy.
Last chance workout time. Because of the golden egg Bob thinks he needs to make sure Blue doesn't lose the weigh-in. Since Olivia is voting Jillian focuses on Rulon and Jay, assuming she won't vote her sister off. Cara continues to push Kaylee. Austin talks about it being tougher to get a good workout in as he gets in better shape. Moses has a treadmill break-through with Bob.
Prior to the weigh-in Olivia talks to Hannah about the egg. She makes it sound like if it comes down to Jay or Rulon she will probably vote-off Rulon.
The weigh-in begins with the Blue team and Olivia. She's down four pounds (to 176) and is happy. Irene is down three pounds (to 170). Moses has lost seven pounds (to 293) and he claps for himself. Blue team's percentage is 2.14.
The Green is up next, starting with Ken. He's down six pounds, to 257. Austin is right there with him, having lost seven pound (to 265). Last is Kaylee, who needs at least three pounds for Green to be safe. She does it with ease, down five pounds to 159.
The Black team is up next and needs at least 17 pounds to be safe. Jay, who hasn't been weighed-in for real since returning, steps on the scale first. He has lost six pounds (to 276) and isn't thrilled. Rulon steps on the scale next, admitting he's nervous. He's down five pounds (to 325) and isn't very happy. Olivia mutters to Jillian that Rulon is eating way too much. Jillian calls him out being "rogue" and doing whatever he wants and he admits to having had some tortilla chips. This means for Black to be safe Hannah needs to have lost six pounds. She has lost no weight, remaining at 172. Alison mentions her sister having the lone vote.
Blue team is now definitely safe, meaning either Black or Red will be up for vote. And since Jay has the highest percentage of weight loss for Black, Olivia will only be able to choose Hannah (yeah right) or Rulon.
Red team is last to take the scale and needs to have lost more than six pounds to be safe this week. If they lose the weigh-in it will be automatic elimination. Courtney is on the scale first and has lost just two pounds (to 232). She shakes her head in disgust, begins to tear up and says she regrets not having chosen to work with Brett. So that means Jen needs to have lost at least four pounds for the Red team to be safe. But Jen has lost no weight this week (sticking at 187). She looks as if she's seen a ghost. That means Jen is eliminated this week. Jen tells Alison she made a mistake by not continuing to rely on her trainers. Bob is upset at their choices.
In the at-home vignette we see that Jen has lost another 14 pounds since leaving the show and is doing a lot of her workouts with her brother.
