A third centrifuge scenario was filmed wherein a simple hammer became heavy enough to crush a hard hat. The hard hat was crushed as planned, however the main camera being used shut off because the camera, weighing 100 times as much as normal, depressed its own power button.
The centrifuge crew was unsure that the GoPro cameras used would continue to function while being exposed to a static 160-G acceleration and in wind exceeding 200 MPH. The cameras functioned well with the exception of the power button being insufficiently recessed.
A safety system on the centrifuge designed to prevent excessive torque from reaching the drivetrain engaged requiring replacement of shear pins, preventing filming for an hour.
