This New York Dolls concert was recently screened on HDNet and had an official DVD release and was filmed at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on March 16, 2011. This was actually my first time seeing the Dolls perform live, which I know is pretty sad. I had first heard of the group in Aerosmith's autobiography as the band was clearly influenced by them. Now that I have seen them live I can honestly say that they lived up to the hype of them being hard rockers that really go all out and deliver the goods. Since this was the first time I had heard any of these songs I'm sure the die-hards out there are going to love this set even more. The band is obviously in very good form and appear to be having fun. Some of the highlights for me was the opener "Looking for a Kiss" and the rather rocking "Cause I Sez So." "End of the Summer" and "Jet Boy" were also very well done but then again so was the entire set. I can't imagine fans of the group being disappointed and if you're new to them like I was then it's hard not to be impressed and wanting to check out more.
