- A young woman aspires to become a 9-ball professional and champion but her hustling uncle has other plans for her skills.
- Gail had her tenth birthday party tonight, but her Dad was not there. She loves her dad, and he loves her. He had told her he was bringing her a special present, so why was he so late? Gail thought she knew what the present was; it must be that special custom pool cue she had wanted. Dad must have stopped to pick it up on his way home from work; maybe he stopped at Vicky's billiards to shoot a few games of 9-ball and lost track of time? Gail looks at the posters of the great women pool champions on her wall, Dorothy Wise and Jean Balukas and smiles. A screech of tires outside shakes Gail's attention to the street. As Gail quickly opens her window, she sees a car speed up and stop next to her Dad, as he staggers up the street holding a long package under his arm. Gail waves to her Dad, he smiles, waves back, and blows her a kiss. A man jumps out of the car, runs up to Gail's Dad and stabs him in the chest and yells in his face "Dirty dogs must die!" Gail races to her Dad's side. As he lies dying, he says "Gail. Have faith, you will be a champion.—Anthony Palma
- Gail loved pool ever since she was a young girl, and she was a natural born player, she had the gift. After her father was murdered when she was only twelve, she was left in the care of her uncle Joey, he saw's Gail's great pool playing skills as a way for him to use her to make a lot of money for himself. Gail's determination, and persistence on breaking out of the hustle scene and becoming a professional put her in direct conflict with her uncle's goals of getting rich from Gail's excellent shooting skills. Fortunatly for Gail she had great friends and champion professional players such as Jeanette Lee, and Allison Fisher to support and coach her in the right direction of how to become a professional, and champion.—Tony Palma
- After her father who she loved got murdered when she was very young, Gail was left to her greedy uncle to raise her. Her father was an inspiration in Gail's love of the game she loved and thrived at, 9-Ball; her uncle found her skills were an excellent way to hustle guys not expecting to lose to a pretty face.
Still, Gail dreams, pesistance, determination and love of playing 9 ball, of becoming a professional and one day a champion were conflicting to her uncle Joey's goals of using Gail's skills to make him a rich man. With the help of her friends and champion mentors Jeanette Lee and Allison Fisher, Gail maintained the heart to persue her dreams. Uncle Joey was not about to give up easily, and he did everything possible to keep Gail and her skills under his thumb where he could contral the money. With Gail's resolve to become a professional 9 ball player, in addition to her great friends Mark, Vicky, and Melissa plus her professional coaches they assisted her against major hurdles on her quest to become a professional pool player.
