Beautifully sad
auroranavarro24 April 2017
I actually came across this while searching a solution for an algebra problem. I had no idea that it would lead to a very thought-provoking short film that I will no doubt be thinking of for the rest of my life.

The acting is fantastic and so is the dialogue. The message is, like I said, very thought-provoking and left me wondering how I would deal with a situation like the one our characters are in. The music also creates a slightly creepy but beautiful atmosphere as you watch the slowly but surely-decaying state of our characters' mental health.

The only reason I gave it 8 stars instead of 9 or 10 is because I felt like it could have explained certain things with a little bit more detail--mainly the ending. I feel like that's the point of the film, though, but I still felt very unsatisfied and I really wanted more. Then again, perhaps that's the feeling that the director wanted us to feel given what happens. Also, I feel like it could have implemented the riddle of the Sphinx a bit better. It was mentioned once and then never again. Or maybe I'm just dumb and missing out on something major...

Overall, it is a great short film that I would definitely recommend, and I now really want to watch this guy's other films to see if they match the sheer sad beauty that 4.2.3 provides.

a weird short film but worth checking out because of good acting display

Warning: Spoilers
Ryan Colucci directs this short film about a scientist Michael Letto who is working on cure for sleeping he is worried about Eva the girl he loves she is suffering from some decease and Michael is torn between his work and his personal life all this is shown through a span of 4 years.

the acting is good here by everyone Brian Johnson and Cameron Richardson give great performances this is the kind of a film that tells a story quick but method acting presence is very high.

there is discussion about science here but clever ending troubled me a lot it has a hidden meaning i wont reveal which made it more interesting and kept me thinking for some time.

the dialogs, impressive atmosphere are added bonuses here this is a sweet simple film but at the same time it is creepy i mean here is another theory that what if Eva is a ghost or Michael's own creation or was he onto something, the viewer can't deny the fact that Michael suffered more everyday it is very much possible this was all a dream, hallucination etc.

this film reminded me of eyes wide shut 1999 of tom cruise it has a similar vibe to it,this is just 13 minutes long but so good.

most people hate the no back story characters but they are enjoyable for sure also the poster deserver a mention it is brilliant to look at what a superb work of art this is wow.

this is just me as a viewer i like this type of stuff this was on Youtube so i saw this though never expected it to be a head spinner of a project 4.2.3 is a weird short film but a well done one.

overall 4.2.3:2011 is a great film i wish this was a longer theatrical one my rating is 6/10:recommended
