- The ten remaining teams travel from Hue, Vietnam to Macau, China. They all have to search for a good fortune among hundreds of cookies in Hong Kong, but will any of them be brave enough to attempt a hair-raising Fast Forward?
- As the first team to arrive at the last Pit Stop, surfers Tyler & Nathan are the first team to depart. They open up their clue and learn that they have to fly to Hong Kong, China. Once there, they have to make their way to Aberdeen Marina in order to catch a ferry to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant, where they have to bite their way through a pile of one thousand fortune cookies to find one that contains the fortune "Your fortune has delivered luck! You may now collect your clue", which they can then exchange for their next clue.
The nine other teams depart, and all ten find themselves on the same flight to Hong Kong. After they land, Tyler & Nathan are joined by father and son Jeff & Luke, Muslim friends Mo & Mos, models Sam & Renae and married bikers Dave & Kelly on the first ferry to the Jumbo Floating Restaurant. Moments before it leaves, dating couple Anastasia & Chris run towards it, but a leg-cramped Dave yells his lungs off, joining the other teams as they tell the boat driver to leave, leaving Anastasia & Chris on the dock. They are joined by sisters Alana & Mel on the second ferry, while the last ferry carries workmates Anne-Marie & Tracy, farmers Matt & Tom and married entrepeneurs Richard & Joey.
Soon all ten teams are eating their way through the fortune cookies, and it is one of the later starters, Richard & Joey, who are the first to find the right fortune and exchange it for their next clue. They find that they have reached the leg's Detour, and also get a clue to what will be the only Fast Forward offered for the entire race. The first team to complete the special Fast Forward task can skip all remaining tasks on the leg and proceed directly to the Pit Stop. To win the Fast Forward, teams need to make their way to Tin Hau Temple on Causeway Bay. Richard & Joey decide to try for the Fast Forward, as do Mo & Mos, who are the next to find the fortune.
It is only when Richard & Joey arrive at Tin Hau Temple that they find out that they will both need to shave their heads in order to win the Fast Forward. Joey is still excited and gung ho about it, volunteering to be the first to get her hair shaved. Afterwards, she explains that hair will grow back after all. After Richard also gets his hair shaved, they receive a clue telling them to make their way to the Pit Stop at the A Ma Cultural Village in Macau, China. The clue warns them that the last team to check in will be eliminated. They take a ferry to Macau and head for the cultural village, where host Grant Bowler tells them that as winners of this leg of the race, they have won A$10,000 from the National Australia Bank's Platinum Concierge service.
When Mo & Mos arrive at the Tin Hau Temple, they see a sign that says that the Fast Forward has been taken, so they have to re-join the other teams at the Detour, which offers the choices of Lion Dance or Kung Fu Stance. Teams choosing Lion Dance had to make their way to the Walled City Park, where they dress up and dance a traditional lion dance routine. When the dance master feels that they have successfully performed the dance, he will hand them their next clue. Teams choosing Kung Fu Stance had to make their way to the Walled City Park, where they perform a series of precise kung fu moves. When the kung fu master believes that they have passed, they have to break six clay tiles before they receive their next clue.
Anne-Marie & Tracy initially choose Kung Fu Stance before deciding to switch to Lion Dance, but the other eight teams stick with their initial choices. Tyler & Nathan are the first to complete the Detour, and the next clue tells them to travel by ferry to the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel. All of the teams except Mo & Mos and Anne-Marie & Tracy complete the Detour in time to make the same ferry to Macau.
Once the teams arrive at the Venetian casino, their next clue tells them that they have to change into formal wear and play the game Baccarat. Each time they win a hand, they receive a Mahjong tile that contains a letter, and when they have won ten hands, the tiles' letters will spell out their next destination - A MA VILLAGE. Alana & Mel are the first to win enough hands to leave for the cultural village. Sam & Renae are the next to finish, but part-way to the cultural village, they get paranoid and don't trust their taxi driver, so they get him to turn around and drive them back to the Venetian, where they get into a different taxi, even though their first one had been going the right way all along. Other teams finish playing Baccarat as Anne-Marie & Tracy and Mo & Mos arrive at the Venetian to do so.
Alana & Mel arrive at the A Ma cultural village and find that they have reached a Road Block. Here, one person from each team has to decipher some clues in order to figure out the correct order of the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac, and then arrange twelve lanterns, each one containing an animal, into the correct chronological order. Once a person gets the order correct, a door will open to allow their team to make their way to the Pit Stop inside.
The last teams to complete the Baccarat task at The Venetian arrive at the Road Block while the leading teams are still working on it. When some people find the riddles difficult to work out, they team up with other people to try to figure them out. Mel and Tyler form the most successful of these partnerships, which allows Alana & Mel to check in second, followed by Tyler & Nathan in third, Dave & Kelly fourth and Matt & Tom fifth. Jeff has tears in his eyes when he and Luke check in sixth, and Anastasia & Chris finish in seventh.
The final three teams have trouble with trying to get their lanterns in the right order. When Sam gives up, she and Renae choose to use their Express Pass, and they are checked in eighth. When Mos also decides to quit, he and Mo are informed by Grant that for failing to complete the Road Block, they have to serve a four-hour penalty, so they wait beside the mat.
Anne-Marie encourages Tracy, trying to convince her that she can complete the task in four hours, but when she thinks she has the order right, the doors do not open. Frustrated, she too chooses to quit, and the doors open when they both walk up to them. After they step on the mat, Grant calls Mo & Mos back alongside them as he tells Anne-Marie & Tracy that they have incurred a four-hour penalty for failing to complete the Road Block. As Mo & Mos had already started to serve their penalty time, Grant then checks them in as team number 9, meaning that Anne-Marie & Tracy are eliminated from the race despite not serving a single minute of their penalty.
