- Samara Cook: [after swimming competition] Wow, you were one with the water. That was amazing.
- Emily Fields: I did okay.
- Samara Cook: Okay enough to win.
- Emily Fields: Yeah, but I was off my personal time.
- Samara Cook: Wanna grab something to eat?
- Emily Fields: Ah, I would, but I promised my Mom I'd help her pack.
- Samara Cook: Okay, how about tomorrow night?
- Emily Fields: Tomorrow?
- Samara Cook: Yeah. Something to eat, maybe see a movie?
- [as Emily hesitates:]
- Samara Cook: What, you don't like movies?
- Emily Fields: No, I even like the black-and-white ones, but... I'm moving, Samara. I don't wanna start anything that I can't finish.
- Samara Cook: Okay, well, um, it is just a movie. So, if you don't want a big commitment, we won't get the large popcorn.
- [both chuckle]
- Samara Cook: Or am I misreading things?
- Emily Fields: No, you're not. Let's do tomorrow.
- Emily Fields: [in cinema] All I need is a letter. Just something in writing, and I won't have to move. I can finish at Rosewood.
- Samara Cook: And you think you can get that from the scout?
- Emily Fields: Absolutely.
- Samara Cook: That's great.
- Emily Fields: It's beyond great. I feel like I can breathe again.
- [looks around furtively]
- Samara Cook: What is it? You went somewhere just now, what was it?
- Emily Fields: Nothing. I'm fine.
- Samara Cook: Did you come here with someone?
- Emily Fields: [nods] Maya.
- Samara Cook: Do you wanna go someplace else?
- Emily Fields: No. No, I'm fine, really. If you're okay.
- Samara Cook: I don't know. Ghosts of first girlfriends make tough competition.
- Emily Fields: [chuckles] What sort of competition would I be looking at?
- [Samara chuckles]
- Emily Fields: I mean... for the sake of argument?
- Samara Cook: Oh, I don't kiss and tell. But I had a Maya.
- Emily Fields: Ah.
- Samara Cook: Everybody has a Maya. If they're lucky.
- Emily Fields: Who was she?
- Samara Cook: Her name was Marianne Ginari. Sophomore English, one row over, two seats down. She always wore her hair up, and... I kept looking at the back of her neck.
- Emily Fields: What happened?
- Samara Cook: We had a study date one night, and... she let her hair down.
- [grins, movie starts, Emily smiles]
- Hanna Marin: [following mother down the stairs] Mom, you don't believe in any of this therapy stuff, so why do I have to put up with it?
- Ashley Marin: [downstairs] Because most of life consists of putting up with something.
- Hanna Marin: Wow. What a positive outlook. Yeah, that's gonna have a terrific impact on my future development.
- [shakes her head]
- Ashley Marin: Could we not talk any more until we've had coffee?
- Hanna Marin: And why did you have to turn on the Hanna-in-trouble bat-sign and call Dad?
- Ashley Marin: I didn't.
- [pours coffee]
- Ashley Marin: When daughters show up in news stories about a vanishing corpse, fathers check in.
- Hanna Marin: He can check in, but why does he have to come here?
- Ashley Marin: He was worried about you. He is. I heard it when he called.
- [hands over mug of coffee]
- Hanna Marin: Well, last time he came, he sprang a... fiancee and a stepdaughter on us. Wonder what we get this trip?
- Ashley Marin: Well, he sent you that nice plant when you were in the hospital.
- Hanna Marin: It died, remember?
- Ashley Marin: [smiles] We still have the pot.
- [goes off, Hanna chuckles]
- Spencer Hastings: [on phone] What do you mean, gone?
- Emily Fields: [at computer] I mean gone, blank, zeroed out. Somebody got in here and erased the whole drive.
- Spencer Hastings: Who?
- Emily Fields: The real estate agent's been bringing people in here all the time. I mean, the laptop's been sitting on my desk.
- Spencer Hastings: Are you saying that A just walked in and wiped your drive?
- [sighs]
- Spencer Hastings: What am I talking about? Of course they did.
- Emily Fields: It's gone, Spence. All the videos of Ian are gone.
- Spencer Hastings: Yeah, except for the one Ian had when he fell.
- [door opens]
- Spencer Hastings: Look, we're gonna talk at school, okay?
- Emily Fields: How?
- Spencer Hastings: We'll figure it out.
