Comedy
panna93025 July 2011
As an Alaskan, I consider this movie a comedy. I could have given it a 10 for that, but the intent was a documentary, therefore, I gave it a low rating. What I find odd is that most documentaries have actual interviews, but this one, used cut and paste of selected dialogue from people who were close to Mrs. Palin. I did not see a good sampling of people on the streets or people who worked with Mrs. Palin who were not part of her buddies. She hired most of her staff from her friends in Wasilla and/or people who were referred by her friends, not in an open way that most employers do. She hired "yes, maam" people, and these are the only ones who are depicted in this film. The person she hired to run the controversial dairy whose only qualification was she "liked cows" is a sampling of Mrs. Palin's CEO abilities. The movie doesn't give the facts about her mayor-ship of Wasilla; she hired a city manager (city of 5,000 population at the time of her election) because she didn't know what to do. She left the city of Wasilla in 21 million dollar debt, whereas before her "CEO" endeavors there was zero debt. Oh, and when the fast growing city needed infrastructure like sewer and water, she built a hockey stadium, and named it after a high school boyfriend.

The way the movie was put together was so insulting to anyone's intelligence, that it had to be a comedy.

Poorly made puff piece
rice_a_roni4 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The cutting in this is so frenzied! If any talking head is on the screen for more than literally (literally!) 2 seconds they're applying a quick succession of different color filters, extreme zooming, jump panning, etc. The talking head intro text is presented only once per head and so briefly that if you aren't Evelyn Wood on speed you'll almost certainly miss their name, position, or both. Why don't they properly introduce these obscure people who are yakking my ear off for almost two hours? Youth wants to know.

I had to close my eyes to the visual cacophony in order to keep from hurling, and to actually be able to listen to what those heads were saying - which was very little beyond an incoherent presentation of universal love for their unjustly and inexplicably persecuted Sarah, on top of a continuous wash of super annoying and pointless background music. Did they watch the final cut and think to themselves that it needed something more to mask their largely bankrupt presentation? I learned almost nothing from the two hours, it could have easily been cut down to an hour (or less) without losing any info whatsoever. They played very fast and loose with stock and manufactured footage e.g. the close-up of the screaming angry mob was obviously staged. You really need to label the fake stuff in a purported documentary if you want to be taken seriously.

The movie starts by showing us all the scary liberals who were frightened to death Sarah would get in and what big meanies they were (hey, she's a public persona who seems to enjoy the spotlight). This sets the quite defensive seeming tone for the entire movie, to the point where it almost completely subsumes the puff angle. Even if the central figure was a total stranger, I'd have to wonder why everyone (except for a handful of relatively unknown talking heads) was so terribly against everything she did and what she represented.

Anyway, on to shots of oil soaked animal carcases from the Exxon Valdez tragedy with voice over from Sarah talking about what at tragedy it was. Shortly after this we hear how she championed - and got the public to pay for - yet more drilling and pipelines, there's environmental activism for you! But the state running a dairy farm is big government running amok so she had to close it down? She got a ton of big box stores to open locations in Wasilla, but she's for the little guy? That must have destroyed their local downtown economy.

I find it incredibly ironic that the producers of this apparently tried unsuccessfully to adopt many of Michael Moore's methods to elicit outrage, given all the glowing reviews here of people who hate MM. This movie is likely the very best the big money lackeys, grifters, and hangers-on can crank out - they're either talentless hacks or their hearts just aren't in it (or both I suppose).

Watch "Going Upriver" for an example this genre done right.

I'm sorry, but this movie got defeated, big time. It was pretty lousy, on how one-sided, it was.
ironhorse_iv7 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
While being a minority; most grassroots conservative tea party members generally love this movie, while the majority of folks' really dislike this film. While, I'm not for any political party, I can understand why, the majority hate it. The movie doesn't feel like a documentary. While Sarah Palin and her team were not part of the production; the film looks and reads like an infomercial. It's no surprised, that the movie was release, a year, before the presidential election of 2012. It felt like a one-sided campaign ad that was trying to put Sarah Palin, back in the limelight. In hope, that the public would demand her, to seek office. This documentary kinda flew under the political radar. I don't know, many people that came to see this movie when it came out. It's very questionable, why director Stephen K. Bannon chose this title for the name of his film; because it's pretty clear, that Sarah Palin was defeated, pretty badly. Not only did she lost the vice presidency in 2009, she quit the governorship of Alaska and as of this writing, never try, ran for public office, again. Bannon's originally choice for a title, 'Take a Stand' is more logically, but also makes no sense. While, she's still a strong polarizing public figure that speaks out, once in a while, she's doesn't have the political mindset that she had before 2008. Sarah Palin of the present day, is more focus on raising her family, and trying to maintain her outdoors themed reality television. That's not leadership at all. That's call; taking your ball and going home. Another thing, that the movie's fails to do, is be very informative. Yes, it show her rise from house-mom, to mayor, and then her tenure as Governor of Alaska, and her time spent as John McCain's running mate in 2008's presidential election, but the film approached her career, as if, filming a hagiography worthy of sainthood. While, the film does good, showing her strengths, the film really gloss over, most of her political faults. A good documentary is supposed to show a more realistic, complex showing of its subject matter. Instead, this film really tries to romanticize Palin, by having interviews with people who currently work for Palin, or have in the past, has been friends with her. All they talk about, is her achievements, while omitting her faults. While, it's great that the documentary point out some misunderstood facts about her past; the documentary's information is really felt one-sided and preachy. That isn't informative, at all. The film needed to be, a little more well-round; rather than showing a one-sided biased approach. The movie used some, really odd imagery at well. Images of animals attack, atomic warfare, knights, seem very out-there, and isn't grounded in any sense of reality. I don't know what most of them, were supposed to evocative. It felt more like a clusterf*ck mess. A good example is the slavery song, in the beginning. It's beautiful, but it doesn't match up, with the imagery of Sarah Palin, growing up. Unless, Palin's herself, feels like she was a slave, most of her life, which I really doubt. The film is constructed in three acts: Act 1: the servant's heart, Act 2: Mrs. Palin goes to Juneau, Act 3: Present at the Creation. All of the film's acts, have title cards, that start in an eerily way. A dark, snowy image, follow up, with haunting music. It felt like a start of a horror movie! It gets more jarring, as the first act feels like a tourism brochure with the interviewers ramblings incoherent more about their own Alaskan's life, rather than Palin. The second act is the only part in the documentary that seem focus on Palin. The third act, felt like a mindless rant from the director, using Sarah Palin as a figurehead, to fight a made-up, spiritual holy war, against the main stream media. It was kinda disturbing. I didn't like how the movie made her detractors seem like evil one-dimensional cartoony caricatures, out to destroy the world. This biblical cartoonish version of real life is just as bad, as the caricatured parodies of Palin. Not only does the third act, whitewash history, but it scapegoating all the blame of the presidential failure to the other parties. Another thing, that I didn't like, is how the movie often views, any criticism of Palin, as discrimination. Yes, some of these criticism are a bit sexism or misogyny and yes, I kinda agree that some critics of her, went a little overboard, with the shame calling and callousness threats. Still, I don't agree that, Sarah Palin is, without any criticism. Sarah Palin does have extremely hypocritical political views. She claims to be a conservative, but rarely show some. The movie claims that she stood up against Big Oil after the Exxon Valdez oil tragedy, but she rarely shows any environmental activism. Her advocacy of oil exploration and development including drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the de-listing of the polar bear as an endangered species is pretty alarming. Another thing, the movie claim to be for small business, but she got corporations to open locations in Wasilla. How is that, for the little guy? That must have destroyed their local downtown economy. The movie likes to compare her to Ronald Reagan, but I really don't see it. During her campaign to become vice president, a lot of things, came under close media scrutiny, particularly with regard to her religious perspective on public life, her socially conservative views, and her perceived lack of experience in foreign and domestic politics. Ronald Reagan was at least, a little more season. Overall: Not to be confused with 2011's sport documentary with the same name, The Undefeated is a niche documentary only good for Sarah Palin's supporters. To everybody else, it's way too heavy-handed to be taken serious. Don't watch, unless you're a huge fan of her work.

Palin supporters are clearly stuffing the review ballot
deanmasters24 July 2011
With all the glowing reviews you'd think this film would have a rating over 8, instead of the dismal 1.6 reflective of some of the worst films ever made. This means the people who loved it (or love Sarah Palin) took the time to write a review, while the vast majority who thought it was complete garbage didn't bother. There is only one conclusion one could extrapolate from this: Palin supporters are a dedicated, but very much in the minority.

I don't think this was the worst film ever made, but let's be clear that this was a fluff piece for the main subject. Politically it's no more nor less one-sided than a Michael Moore doc, but at least Michael Moore brings awareness to a particular subject of topical interest rather than simply shameless self-promotion. Even as a bit of propaganda, The Undefeated is heavy-handed, too long, unsubtle, and lacks an engaging narrative structure.

I noticed that most of the positive reviewers also had never reviewed another film besides this one, suggesting they created a profile just to promote The Undefeated.

If you're huge fan of Palin, have $10-15 to burn, and want to spend 2 hours hearing about how wicked her detractors are and how awesome she is, then this documentary might be for you. Or you could just read some of the glowing 'reviews' here and get the gist of the type of person who would love it. Personally, I wish I had accidentally walked into the wrong theater and saw Captain America instead.

Sad
crapemail6325 July 2011
It is too bad that, given the way Palin was sprung on the American people, that this movie is so entirely biased. A true look at all sides of her record would be enlightening and helpful. Instead we get an amateurish, poorly recorded, one-sided diatribe that does nothing more than blow smoke. The subject (Palin) aside, this is a deeply bad movie--poorly written, scored, filmed, put together. Worse than some high-school projects or even you-tube videos. The images of the animal attacks that accompany and/or follow some star's critiques of Palin are laughable. Obviously the director/writer has seen & taken notes from Leni Riefenstahl and her propaganda films. Tell a falsehood over & over, make the subject look pretty & facts no longer matter.

SAVE your money! and your brain cells!

She lost....
headly6618 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Probably the most atrociously bad lie filled love fest ever put on film. I love the paid posters on here trying desperately to raise the star rating on this steaming pile of Alaskan excrement. This schlockumentary is filled with the incoherent ramblings of friends and the paid punditry who drool over Simple Sarah's failed bid at VP and revel in the intelligence of her quitting her elected position because it was just too hard (but I guess VP would be easier).

This opened to almost empty houses and I can see why. Nothing in this film is accurate in the least, filled with lies and misinformation of the forgettable political career of a severely despised, vengeful, spiteful, petty, and unintelligent woman.

Who goes to see a documentary about them self? Simple Sarah Paycheck, that's who.

Wow....
catsasssolutions16 July 2011
I want to first off make it clear that I have no political axe to grind here. As far as I am concerned both the Dems AND Repubs are equally useless. That said, I want you to know that I review this "film" on it's merits as a documentary and not in critique of the (admittedly weird) political content.

This film was a hodgepodge of sound bites and glowing testimonials to the power of Sarah Palin, nothing more. There was very little in the way of followable narrative, and any and all opposing viewpoints where hissed upon as some kind of shadowy conspiracy from "the left" to destroy what they see as their biggest threat. It felt more like a dumbed down version of "Triumph of the Will" to me. And like Leni Riefenstahl's classic film, it left me with a sense of dread in knowing that so many people can be so easily swayed by melodramatic notions of patriotism and willful demagoguery.

And at least Riefenstahl could work a camera in a manner that didn't look like she was about to have an epileptic fit. The camera work in some of the interview portions makes it seem like someone is tickling the camera person. This may have been an attempt at making the scene look more "urgent" or "home brewed" I don't know, but it came across like someone skimmed through "An Idioit's Guide to Cutting Edge Documentary Filmmaking" the night before and didn't quite get it.

If Palin truly had aspirations for some form of national higher office, I really feel that she may have blown it by allowing this stinker to be released. It's a real shame too, because the US really needs a shakeup in it's political system. If you are a fan of Sarah Palin, do not watch this film as it may leave a bad taste in your mouth due to it's transparent attempt at being an extended infomercial.

A waste of time and money. DON'T GO!
Boyer5820 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I was dragged there kicking and screaming by a good friend of mine who happens to be a schizophrenic delusional who "likes" Sarah Palin. Turns out there were only about 20 other people in the theater. Three old balding men who smelled as if they hadn't bathed in a week or two were sitting a few rows up from us, all of them wearing Sarah Palin tee shirts. Within ten minutes of the start of the show we both heard odd sounds and low level moaning from these guys. They grossed us out so much we had to move as far away from them as possible. Fortunately, because the theater was virtually empty, we had our choice of seats. After 25 minutes, neither of us could take any more of this truly God-awful film so we left to go home and wash the "stink" off of us. I'm 62 years old and have never ever seen such a terrible movie. Never!

Great Story Terrible Production
bobkeenan15 March 2012
I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the information on Gov. Palin. The commentary by friends and co-workers was very enlightening and helped to reinforce some of the impressions that I already had.

But the Production was just AWFUL. The director or producer, for some reason, felt that they had to insert video scenes of really odd stuff to reinforce what was being said. Things like lions eating their prey, or a plant bud rising out of a the soil. Just a lot of stupid stuff. Its like the director felt that we could not understand the oral information that was being provided so they provided dramatically graphical images. It was so annoying that I think the show would be much better with the picture turned off and done in audio only.

I am a big supporter and big fan of Gov. Palin and I could hardly watch it. If this movie was to support her I think it probably had the opposite effect.

Modest Screed
WildBill-1512 March 2012
This movie exemplifies amateurish film-making and "The Paranoid Style in American Politics." I had some interest in the nonsense voiced by Mark Levin, the late Andrew Breitbart, and other gabbers, so the film held my interest until its merciful if too long delayed end. Because former Governor Palin is almost a Rorschach inkblot into which factually challenged testifiers project their fantasies and nightmares, I did not wonder that "the witnesses" were unmoored to such an extent from the reality-based community. Still, the Palin supporters who can read would profit from perusing "The Lies of Sarah Palin" or similar studies of Plain's vacuous mendacity. "Game Change" was a far better film and far superior perspective on Senator John McCain's cynical recklessness in nominating Governor Palin. "Game Change" the book is even more frightening.

I awarded three stars. I have seen worse films.

Why not be open minded?
lanahi219 July 2011
Many here have not seen the movie but are rating it according to their own bias toward Palin. They WILL not see the movie but just continue to bash someone they do not know.

I've always believed that, if you are open-minded, you will consider all the evidence before making a judgment. This seems to be intelligence, to me. The other way is simply ignorance.

The movie doesn't pretend to be balanced. We've been inundated with the negative press about Palin, truthful or not. This film attempts to tell the other side of the story so the picture of her is balanced. There is a reason Palin was the most popular governor in the nation, with 88% popularity before she was picked as VP candidate. The movie shows why this is so. It points out what the emails also pointed out...an honest, hard-working, intelligent, and principled governor working for the state. In the nearly three years she was governor, she did more for the people in her state than nearly any other full-term governor has done, including putting crooks in her own party in jail.

This movie reviews what she did for the state, such as leaving it with over $12 billion in surplus.

It shows how her instant popularity as VP candidate brought on a nearly universal attack frenzy from the media and liberals and what it cost her and why it was necessary to finally resign as governor.

"Undefeated" is about a spirit that can't be defeated, and because of the strength in this woman, she will not ever be defeated.

Whether you will vote for her or not, she is very much a part of the political scene and the future, and for this reason it seems the only intelligent thing is to see what she is really all about. If you still want to attack her, you have some new talking points. If you want the truth, you will find it here.

The Unwatchable.
malebranche25 July 2011
The trouble with Sarah Palin is most of us have already made up our minds about her and for the most part negatively. If Stanley Kubrick directed a positive film about her, and threw in all the spaceships, monkeys, atomic blasts and Alex's he could muster, we'd hate it still. We come to this film seeking comedy or horror. And Stephen Bannon is no Stanley Kubrick.

Bit of background. I'm an American living in Barcelona. The Europeans I've spoken about her with, those who've been paying any attention, either loathe her or are genuinely puzzled by her ascension. Bearing that in mind, a Catalan friend obtained a copy through some interwebz magic and invited myself and girlfriend to watch.

From the opening the room was filled with laughter. They were likely relying more on the subs and may have experienced a very different film from myself but our reactions were the same. Laughter, then boredom. A few more snickers then everyone turned their attention away from the screen and to the wine and the company.

Long story short, it was a campaign ad. A very, very long ad that only those smitten by Palin will likely watch.

If you're open-minded you could love this
ttotwo18 July 2011
This is a documentary that moves quickly but gives you plenty of substance. Palin's truly is a Hollywood-style story of rising from obscurity to major political impact, taking the big personal hits for standing by ethics and principles along the way. So it is exhilarating and inspiring as well.

I thought some of the stylistic flourishes were a bit distracting in the first 10 to 15 minutes of the film, but then it settled down to a plain old, gripping story and carried you right along to the end.

If you're a hard-core lefty, I'd guess your politics might get in the way of your enjoyment of the film. That is too bad, because I can't name another politician who has done so much consistently and successfully to fight corruption, whether in the oil industry, within her political party or in exposing the illegalities of her boss.

But if you are middle of the road to conservative, The Undefeated should be a treat. Hollywood can't write a better story than Sarah Palin's and you'll be educated while you are entertained.

Utter trash
wmpaddington25 July 2011
This is so unspeakably dreadful, by my own assessment I should say no more.

This is not a movie. It's an infomercial and like most infomercials it is riddled with omissions, exaggerations and downright lies. From the erroneous title -- she was defeated twice, once in the Alaskan primary for lieutenant governor and, of course, as John McCain's running mate, through the over-the-top, ridiculous imagery of lions eating zebras, boxers, etc. and let us not forget the mushroom cloud, it would be a total embarrassment to anyone with the brains to know what embarrassment is.

I might have given it one point more if finally someone had told us the real reason the woman quit as governor.

Spellbinding account of Sarah Palin's rise in politics
ernie-vogel19 July 2011
The reason I use the word "spellbinding" is due to the rapt attention paid to the movie by fellow theater-goers. I've seen both the rough-cut and theatrical versions and both capture one's attention equally well. The style of the movie is quite fast-paced and moves quickly from subject to subject. The film is divided into 3 acts. The 1st act covers Sarah's initial entrance into local politics as Mayor of Wasilla. The 2nd describes her tenure and legislative record as Governor. The 3rd act covers the period of time from her being named John McCain's running mate through recent appearances at Tea Party events held across the country.

It is an excellent chronicle of her record and goes a very long way toward debunking the misinformation and outright lies that have been written and said about both Sarah and her family after she was picked as the VP candidate.

The movie is a phenomenal contribution that opens minds to the deliberate debasement of a successful, conservative candidate. It should arm theater-goers with a new skepticism toward ongoing media memes that undermine the substance and record of ALL conservative candidates.

I highly recommend the movie. If nothing else, it demonstrates the ability of one individual to make a huge difference through government service, despite circumstances and obstacles that might seem to suggest otherwise.

Must see film for all Americans who genuinely care about the future of our country
dmalcolmcarson16 July 2011
The Undefeated is a political documentary about one of the most well-known, but misunderstood political figures of our time. While the film is in no way objective (it's 100% pro-Palin), it is also not fluff. The filmmaker elected to spend two full hours covering every important detail of Palin's political biography in order to set the record straight against the many misconceptions that have prevailed in the media about her.

While the presentation could be called a bit heavy-handed with respect to the use of hyperbolic rhetoric, epic movie-score music, and imagery taken from the animal kingdom, the content far overshadows any of that. This woman has her finger on the pulse of what really matters in public office, and the film does an excellent job of conveying that graphically. It shows her humble personal background in a small-town in the "Last Frontier", the purity of her intentions in getting involved in politics, the tenacity and effectiveness of her actions in office, and the inspirational leadership that she has provided to the Tea Party movement and women and girls everywhere since she ascended to the national scene in 2008.

Although the film is long for a feature documentary, it is not boring. There is nothing more important in my opinion than informing the public about those who aspire to lead our nation in this critical moment in our nation's history. I do believe that Sarah Palin is that person, and this film illustrates it. But even if you don't agree (yet), I would strongly urge that you see this film and decide for yourself.

Undefeated is an Informative and Thought-Provoking Documentary.
eurekak16 July 2011
In the Undefeated, Steve Bannon has created an informative and sweeping documentary of politics, the media and the American zeitgeist.

Part of the movie traces the career of Sarah Palin as city councilor, mayor, oil-and-gas commissioner, governor and candidate for Vice President, often delving into policy details that define the issues at hand. The underlying facts and turns-of-events are laid out clearly and unadorned in a non-partisan narrative that is uncommon in today's charged political climate.

People of all political leanings should see this film. No doubt each will come away with new insights not only about Sarah Palin, but also the media and the state of politics in America. '

Star rating results from ballot box stuffing
catrepublic19 July 2011
Of course its no surprise to see certain segments resorting to stuffing the ballot box for a movie they never saw.

What is truly amazing is the hate coming from people. Why do they hate Sarah Palin so much, they'd register on a site and vote against a movie about her when they never even saw the movie. Did she hurt them in some way? Did she cost them money or their job? Did she hurt their family or their family pet?

Did she send their son, daughter, husband, or wife off to war? Did she raise their taxes or stop their government checks?

No, she didn't do any of that. In fact, unless you lived in Alaska, she's never had one iota of control over you or them. ...and in Alaska, she is still considered a great governor.

What did she do to these people that they've gone into catatonic fits of rage in opposition to the mere mention of her name?

See the movie and find out the answer to the mystery.

An inspirational story that made me feel good about America again.
movie_guy-108-26142116 July 2011
The movie starts out, just like some of reviews here at IMDb have, with the mindless hate directed at Palin . It then goes on to show the hatred is directed at her because she is honest and effective and the threat she represents to the ruling elite. It's a classic good vs evil tale that makes you believe America can rise again in spite of the Obama depression. If you believe America is an exceptional place and it's going the wrong way you will walk away from this movie feeling refreshed with a new sense of hope. If you think America is a racist, bigoted, homophobic aberration then I suspect you will not watch the movie but come here to the IMDb and slam it anyways.

The Undefeated Shows Palin is a Genuine Post-Partisan Corruption Fighter
niteowlmom320 July 2011
People expecting to watch The Undefeated and see a polarizing, divisive Sarah Palin might be disappointed. The real Sarah Palin shown in this film is more about battling corruption than scoring cheap political points. Afterall, this is the woman who enjoyed a sustained 80% approval rating governing the state of Alaska, where more than two-thirds of the electorate are independent. This is the woman who turned in her state party chairman for ethics violations. He later received the largest ethics fine in state history.

Sarah Palin had high approval ratings in Alaska because she worked in bi-partisan fashion to pursue popular reforms, including a nearly unanimous and sweeping ethics law, a new system for calculating oil royalties, and the blueprint for a $40 billion natural gas line.

Since being picked as a VP candidate, this popular governor has been subjected to more bizarre scrutiny than any VP candidate in history.

I challenge skeptics to watch this film with an open mind to see the popular reformer who took on the special interests in her home state.

You Will Come Away a Changed Person
raygross1216 July 2011
Anyone who writes a negative review of this film either did not really see it, or went into the film with a hardened heart and narrow mind. Everyone who sees this film, and who has the slightest bit of intellectual curiosity (whether you like Sarah Palin or not) will leave with truthful information and a different perspective. I went to see this movie because I have done my homework in regards to finding the truth about her. I also brought with me a liberal Democrat friend who has been pretty ignorant of the truth of Gov Palin due to the media's irresponsibility in not reporting these facts and truths about her. We saw the movie. On the way home my friend finally confessed to me that he is very disappointed with Obama and what he was hoping Obama would be is what he now truly sees in Sarah Palin. "For real this time" is what he said to me. This movie has the power to change minds. It is a very powerful and very very well done movie. 2 hours of face paced drama...not a moment of dead time.

Leftist IMDb reviewers haven't seen the film
doofenschmerz20 July 2011
This film has only been shown in about a dozen cities so far and on only one screen per city. The chance that the leftist trolls who are "reviewing" this film have actually seen it is infinitesimally small. Thus, as usual with the Left, they are lying.

If you are considering seeing this documentary, don't let this forum influence you. Have the guts to see the film and make up your own mind instead of letting some pimply kid living in Mommy's basement do your thinking for you.

The film is shocking in that it provides an inside look at Sarah Palin's life before, during and after public office. This straight-forward portrait of an honest, unapologetically pro-American public servant painted by the filmmaker stands in such stark contrast to that in the hopelessly biased media that even those who oppose Palin's politics, if they are willing to be honest, should be angry and frustrated. Ask yourself: What do I really know about Sarah Palin except for what I have read or seen in the press?

The film asks the questions: How does it feel to be consistently lied to by the American media? If they won't be honest about Sarah Palin, why should we assume that they are honest about anything else? And, ultimately, why are the media and the Washington DC establishment on both sides of the aisle so afraid of her?

Powerful movie

First off, I actually watched this movie. As many other commenters point out, it seems that a lot of negative "reviewers" are getting their talking points from the liberal media whose false narrative about Governor Palin this documentary largely discredits.

As to the quality of the movie, I'm not one for documentaries, so I don't really have a basis for comparison. I thought it was well-done and of professional quality. Some of the dramatic scenes (depicting nature's violence or smoke-filled back rooms) were clearly added for heightened effect, but they did not take away from the straightforward unfolding of the story.

The raw footage depicting Palin's speeches, crowds cheering, newscasters analyzing her sustained 88% approval ratings, and the like, are matters of historical fact. There is no disputing that these events took place. Commentary from her friends, colleagues, opponents, and political analysts puts her accomplishments in perspective.

I found the movie riveting, and even though I was already familiar with some aspects of her career, some of it surprised me and some I had forgotten. For instance, the polling showing that McCain/Palin had pulled ahead of Obama/Biden until the financial collapse had escaped me.

I think anyone would be well-served to watch this, regardless of political affiliation.

Discover the REAL Sarah Palin!
ronsmithx1-110-3512119 July 2011
Wow. I just got to see this amazing movie in Orange, CA last Friday.

While I consider myself to be fairly well-informed, and thought that I already knew quite a bit about Governor Palin, this extraordinary movie helped me to discover the REAL "Sarah Palin" -- someone with a depth of character, and a level of personal commitment to the citizens of Alaska that even I had never seen before.

Forget the "cartoon" version of Sarah Palin being promoted by so many in the media.

This powerfully effective movie shows a woman who is certainly NOT the "Caribou Barbie" -- who "does not read newspapers" and "can see Russia from her house" -- that they WISH she was.

Invest two hours of your life with this fast-paced, uplifting documentary, and discover FOR YOURSELF why so many people love this woman!.

Finally the Truth!
imunoz200816 July 2011
I was fortunate to see the film on opening night. The movie was truly enlightening and inspiring. I must say 'The Undefeated' is full of facts that the MSM has failed to report. If you are tired of the lies/half truths the MSM has been reporting I suggest you watch 'The Undefeated' for yourself. After watching 'The Undefeated' I've come to realize how uninformed the public is about Sarah Palin. She is a highly capable of doing the job of the President of the United State of America. She is a courageous woman willing to do what is correct for those she represents, that is something I don't see in some men even today. I'm glad I took the time to go see the film it has filled me with renewed hope for America. Don't allow yourselves to be deceived any longer go watch 'The Undefeated' you'll be glad you did.
