Still going through the motions

Warning: Spoilers
As if last week's curveball didn't make any sense, here comes a couple of other plots that fit into the same category. We don't just have one wedding to deal with. We have three!

Jackie's getting married to her boyfriend. Harris is getting married to her boyfriend. Might be a bit of a weakest link for those last two because her boyfriend wants kids right away and Harris doesn't really seem too thrilled about the idea. I'd say other family members are cautious about Harris marrying her boyfriend. Becky and Louise tag along for the ride and Becky wants to caution Harris about marrying too young* and Louise wants to say that she waited til she was older to get married and how happy she is with her man/that decision.

*I can't really get into the idea of Harris wanting to get married at all instead of just living with a guy. And why would she want this guy when she couldn't even move in with him? It's like the writers want the family to stay rock bottom instead of making better decisions. I realize life can blindside a person and stuff happens. But you do have a choice in being 20 years old and possibly marrying a man child. And to even bring up Mark (Becky's Mark) to even caution Harris about marrying young is an absolute insult.

Darlene sees that the other family members are announcing their wedding plans and she decides for herself and for Ben to try and keep their news about getting back together to themselves. Maybe they can just elope instead of participating in this side show freakshow with Jackie/Neville/Harris/Aldo? But Dan catches on and sorta throws a guilt trip into their eloping.

I also just have a hard time with this storyline. Goodness knows I've complained about how dull it's been. I even said on other reviews that Darlene's relationship with David was a weak point. That series was just lucky enough to have better storylines to cover up for the weakness of the endless saga of Darlene and David. It's like they're still trying to write teenage crap for Darlene when she's in her 40s. It's like they don't know what else to do for the character?

Jackie and Neville--I honestly don't even have an option about these two. I think of somebody like Fred on the original Roseanne and how I warmed up to the character. Neville's just there. Although I will say the character must be a saint to put up with Jackie. It's not really the actor's fault. It's like I'm saying on reviews for other tv series I'm reviewing, you do what's in the script. An actor or actress can only do so much with a lousy script. I really don't know how the series struck gold writing for a character like Robin. I'd say Robin is honestly the best new character they've created on this series. Maybe I'd be more entertained if they showed Robin more? But it doesn't matter because I'm dropping this series after next week's season finale.

Warning: Spoilers
Just not sure what happened to the show. It was never great, but there are almost no funny lines whatsoever here. These storylines and relationships have all gone off the rails too.
