Blitzkrieg Bop: Harper’s Demurely Serviceable Horror Sequel Revels in Cheap Thrills
Director James Watkins scored a sleeper hit with his 2012 sophomore film, The Woman in Black, a UK period piece horror film concerning a nasty spirit stealing village children for her own very personal reasons. Moody ambience, a distinct creepy curio motif, and headlined by the dependable likes of Daniel Radcliffe, Ciaran Hinds and Janet McTeer (the film receiving release around the time her Oscar nod for Albert Nobbs was announced), it was surprisingly adept in comparison to the usual effort administered in such derivative genre fare (though it isn’t nearly as taut as Watkins’s 2008 debut film, Eden Lake). And so, without further ado, a sequel was born (to be fair, this is the first sequel from Hammer Productions since 1974), this time directed by Tom Harper and sans any original cast members for The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death.

Here's a piece of promo art for the horror-thriller Woman in Black: Angel of Death. Tom Harper (The Borrowers) is directing the sequel to the Daniel Radcliffe Hammer horror film The Woman in Black.
The story takes place four decades after the events of the first film, and is set during World War II with the arrival of a group of evacuee children at Eel Marsh House. Here's the synopsis that was released:
Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh Harsh has awoken its darkest inhabitant. Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients but soon realizes she must save them from more than their own demons. Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to the Woman in Black.

British director, Tom Harper (The Borrowers TV movie, Misfits), has been tabbed as the director for the revitalized Hammer’s The Woman In Black sequel, The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death. Harper will bring Jon Croker’s script to life.
Here’s the synopsis:
Seized by the government and converted into a military mental hospital during World War II, the sudden arrival of disturbed soldiers to Eel Marsh Harsh has awoken its darkest inhabitant. Eve, a beautiful young nurse, is sent to the house to care for the patients but soon realizes she must save them from more than their own demons. Despite Eve’s efforts to stop her, one by one they fall victim to the Woman in Black.\
Beyond that, all we know is that the film is aiming for a 2014 release and, as of now, will not feature a Daniel Radcliffe cameo. Of course, I...

Hammer Films has hired U.K. director Tom Harper (The Borrowers) to helm the sequel to the Daniel Radcliffe horror film The Woman in Black.
The sequel is called The Woman in Black: Angel of Death, and the story takes place "four decades after the events of the first film, setting the story during World War II with the arrival of a group of evacuee children at Eel Marsh House."
Sounds like a good creepy setting. According to the announcement this is "the next installment in the series," so I imagine we'll get a few more Woman in Black movies in the future if they keep doing well at the box office. The script for the sequel was written by Jon Croker from an original story by author Susan Hill.

In case you’re not so familiar with this name, Tom Harper is British director responsible for projects like The Scouting Book for Boys, and The Borrowers. But I’m sure you’ll be more than interested to hear what his next project will be. So here we go, all of the sudden we have Harper attached to direct The Woman In Black sequel, titled The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death! Surprised?
I am a little bit surprised by this news, but what the hell, let the whole thing continue! After all, we have no doubts in this project. Jon Croker wrote the script and the movie will (logically) be the next instalment in the series, based on the original story written by Susan Hill.
In other words, The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death will pick up the story four decades after the events of the first film,...

British actor Christopher Eccleston suffered bruises on his face and body during filming of upcoming TV movie The Borrowers after performing a series of daredevil stunts.
The Doctor Who star is playing Pod Clock in the film, which also features Stephen Fry and tells the story of a family fleeing their town to raise their daughter in a safer city.
Eccleston had to perform several hair-raising stunts for the role and he ended up injuring his nose, forcing him to take special Arnica tablets to ease the bruising.
He tells the Press Association, "I actually bruised the tip of my nose, which is pretty easy for me to do if you've seen my nose. I had a perfect black bruise from throwing myself continually into a crash mat when I jumped off a bookcase, so I looked comedic with that on the plane home.
"There's a scene where (character) Granny Driver is stabbing down a screwdriver into a hole and we're throwing ourselves against the sides of the room. Pretty much every morning me and (actress) Sharon (Horgan) had to have Arnica tablets - I've never had so many bruises on my bum!"...

Two of Screenterrier's favourite young actors Thomas Sangster (recently seen in BBC3 film Some Dogs Bite) and Aisling Loftus (star of Dive and one of Screenterrier's Faces to Watch from 2009) join forces to star in Death of a Superhero, which has just premiered to much acclaim, at the Toronto Film Festival.
Based on New Zealander Anthony McCarten's novel of the same name, the film centres around Donald Clarke, played by Sangster, a terminally ill teenager who craves sex and adventure, however his time is limited and he’s never even had a girlfriend. Directed by Ian Fitzgibbon, the film blends live action with animation to tell the story of the young would-be graphic artist who knows that death is just around the corner.
