- Jake Gyllenhaal is Bear's latest guest/victim but he proves to be a willing participant in every dangerous or revolting activity Bear can dream up to challenge Jake's acrophobia. He and Bear are lowered from a helicopter into a frozen wilderness in Iceland. There, Bear lowers Jake into an ice hole, then has him explore an ice cave and investigate a rotting carcass. Back up top Jake gets to eat a worm, wade across a glacier fed river, dig out a snow shelter by hand and crawl cross a gorge on a rope. Then it's a windy ride home dangling on a rope from a rescue helicopter.—David Foss
- Bear brings along actor Jake Gyllenhaal, to test how he measures up to unpredictable and unforgiving Mother Nature. Jake will go where Bear goes and eat whatever Bear eats, if he's going to cope with some of the worst conditions known to man.—Anonymous
- Bear gives celebrity fan Jake the opportunity to prove his reputation as Hollywood's fittest actor, and live a boy's dream of survival. Due to terrible storm weather, a rescue helicopter drops them in frozen barren volcanic high Iceland wilderness. Stringer, experienced 'daddy' Bear finds 'cub' Jake fit, compliant and brave, even walking point and being rope-lowered as they soldier on and explore the icy landscape, discarding a sheep carcass that rotted too long to use any part. They become mates as they work their muscular tails off, joking at a 'Brokeback Mountain' position face to tail, braving the elements and digging an igloo-like shelter with relative comfort, catch, prepare and eat food. Chilled to the bone after crossing a freezing river shirtless, an even deeper one motivates them to strain every muscle crossing a steel 'Tyrolean traverse' cable across. Jake keeps confronting his acrophobia, the storm requiring the 'rescue' helicopter to pick them up dangling down the wrench.—KGF Vissers
