Wow! This was a fairly impressive "Regular Show" episode in my opinion.

I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but "Skunked" ended being one of the most serious episodes from this series.

While I was watching this, I felt sorry for Rigby after seeing the bad things which happened to him in this opportunity (More importantly, because unlike the other occasions when this character gets in trouble, this time it wasn't his fault) Rigby's anguish was more than understandable in "Skunked", serving also the plot from this episode as a great homage to "The Incredible Hulk" and the classic archetypes from horror stories involving werewolves and other supernatural beings.

It was also nice touch the way in which Mordecai tries to do his best to help Rigby in this chapter, being an effective and heartwarming moments for this series.

Like most of the episodes from the second season, "Skunked" had the heart in the right place, and that's why it worked so well.
