Witch's Dream
claudio_carvalho17 November 2013
Bonnie has weird dreams with four coffins. Jeremy hangs around with Tyler and invites him in his house. Stephan meets Bonnie and asks her to hide the coffins of Klaus's family. Klaus tries to force Damon and Elena to seek out Stephan and compels Jeremy to stand up in front of a pick-up driven by a hybrid in high speed without his ring; however Alaric saves him but has difficulties to recover. Jeremy kills the hybrid and he takes Alaric to the hospital with Elena. Damon meets Stephan and he tells that he saved Klaus to save Damon's life. Then Damon asks to participate in Stephan's plan against Klaus. Stephan accepts provided Elena does not know the plan. Elena makes a deal with Klaus and delivers Rebekah to him. Then she asks Damon to compel his brother to leave Mystic Falls.

In "The New Deal", the annoying Elena again takes her own decision and delivers Rebekah back to Klaus. I do not understand how the inexpressive Nina Dobrev the keeps the same wooden face could have been selected by the producers for this key role. She is incapable to show any emotion and her character is awfully annoying. Why give Rebekah to Klaus and send Jeremy away from Mystic Falls? Klaus is lasting too long and the writers seem to be exhausted of new ideas and stays with this silly teen triangle of love. My vote is seven.

Damon's Porch Kiss!!

Warning: Spoilers
Bonnie has a recurring dream of Klaus being in a coffin. Klaus threatens by sending messages. Tyler starts hanging out with Jeremy to get him off the vervain and eventually Klaus compels Jeremy to stand in the road. He has his hybrid in a car to run over Jeremy. Jeremy finally realizes how serious this hybrid and Klaus situation is and kills the hybrid himself by chopping his head off with a meat cleaver. Elena, Alaric and Damon come in like wise adults. Damon compels Jeremy to leave Mystic Falls to go to Denver to stay with family. Stefan tells the reason he stopped Damon from killing Klaus - to save Damon himself. Before leaving Damon tells Elena that Stefan didn't actually screw them over. He is sad because he can no longer not be guilty for what he wants. Elena gets the hint he likes her and Damon replies yeah, brother's girl. Before really leaving he turns around and says if he is going to feel guilty it is going to be for this and passionately and sweetly kisses Elena. Elena just stands there as he leaves, looking slightly mesmerized.

Repeating
AMButterfly27 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I'm sorry to say but nothing new has happened in this episode: the witches saved the day (or at least help Stefan), the brothers argue, Damon is still obsessed with a girl he can't (shouldn't) have, Stefan still doesn't know what he wants but stays away from Elena in any case - how else would she have a chance to guiltlessly play along with Damon just like Katherine has? Unlike Katherine though, Elena is unable to make a good deal: she gives Rebecca back to Klaus but still asks Damon to compel Jeremy to leave town - showing again very little trust in Jeremy's capabilities. By the way, what's the point of revain if Damon can compel him anyway?? All in all, season 3 is getting worse and worse so far. The series is lucky that it has its faithful fans. If it was the quality level of the first season, it would've gotten cancelled.

I don't hate the episode but too much drama elena is annoyed at Damon, Jeremy tyler and everyone else are arguing over dumb crap too, again I don't hate any episode of the show but damn season 3 had way too much melodrama and love triangles, I think over all this episode is okay its watchable but not overly that great its not a episode you can write home about

Script Writers are starting to flub!
paintedlaughter-562906 September 2020
I love this show overall. But this episode was super irritating due to some writing errors that made the character choices seem massively illogical...

1. Why would Elaina call 911 when Alaric was bleeding instead of calling one of her many vampire friends to heal him with their blood, especially once the suggestion was made by a hybrid to use his own?

2. Why would Elaina make the utterly STUPID and irrevocable mistake of inviting Klaus into the Salvatore mansion to retrieve his sister? Once a vampire invite has been made, it supposedly can't be undone.

3. Why would Elaina think it remotely wise to ask Damon to compel her brother yet again after witnessing how damaging making such a choice for another person could be in the past? Sooooo much redundant unhealthy codependency in this show!!

4. How would Damon even be able to compel Jeremy? Surely he is on vervain like everyone else at this point... 🙄🤦‍♀️

I forgot how awkward this scene was.

Warning: Spoilers
Damon is in such a state of denial... Just like fans who were rooting for Elena to be with him, he simply assumed things that aren't true. Elena looked so embarrassed after that kiss, I could feel her pain. Can we say assault? I don't care what some might say, I like them, only as friends, because Stefan was it for Elena. They shouldn't have changed that midway, and spend so much time and energy on destroying their bound, to force the Damon/Elena « endgame ». Last episodes before Winter break were very good, the show was finally back on track, and this snooze fest of an episode happened. Jeremy is sired to forget everything again, Tyler's character is ruined a little more, and Bonnie is trying to please everyone, and will regret it again. Alaric is almost killed off for the tenth times or so, and Meredith Fell was introduced, while Klaus is being so petty and vindictive, it's not even fun anymore. He simply has his temper tantrums and expects everyone to bend over backwards for him, at this point. Did they expect us to just forget about the other characters? The writing is very inconsistent this season. I guess you need to be a ten year old to appreciate that.
