The mikaelson ball....klaus mikaelson and Caroline Forbes rules this episode...this episode unites the original family...Esther unites the siblings just to destroy them...in the mean time...the love of Elena and Damon ...klaus and Caroline ..... Rebekah and Matt....really amusing...I really miss Katerina in this episode ....it will be more exciting if she in this mikaelson ball....and Elena is stuck between Damon and Stefan....really really my fav episode ...I have watched this for like many time.

Esther invites Elena to a ball in her house with her family and Damon goes with her to protect Elena. Caroline is invited by Klaus and Matt is invited by Rebekah. Esther summons Elena for a private conversation and she asks for a drop of her blood to connect all her children as one. Along the night, Rebekah protects Matt and Caroline is very honest with Klaus.
"Dangerous Liaisons" is one of those episodes where the writers are typically stalling the viewers and nothing happens except the meeting between the stubborn Elena and Esther. My vote is seven.

The plot thickens... And this is probably the last time the show is written this well. I like the Esther character, she's set out to be the vilain. When in reality, she's the hero preventing the world from evil vampires. But there wouldn't be a show anymore, if she reached her goal. So she had to be stopped... This episode also introduced us to two of the worst storylines of the whole series. Everyone pushing Elena in Damon's arms, so he won't kill anyone, like he did twice already. Because he's just a psycho who can't take rejection. With Stefan and Elena's relationship being angsty and stalling for no reasons. And Klaus and Caroline's awkward dead end romance. What were they thinking? This is also the episode with the infamous « Ed Sheeran » dance, and Rebekah and Damon's « hot » hookup. So far this is the best one this season, an episode that was clearly leading up to some hiatus, back when the show aired on The CW. And made you want to know what happened next, because you didn't know that the worst was about to come...

Matt says he is lucky because all he has to worry about is showing up for his shift at The Grill. The others have supernatural concerns. Elena gets an invitation to the Mikaelsons' ball.
The Mikaelsons get ready together. Rebekah gets get nails painted and the guys get their suits on.
Klaus gives Caroline a dress along with an invitation after his mother asks who he is bringing to the ball.
At the ball, Damon goes up to Carol and chats with her. He watches as Elena comes in, dressed in a sparkly dress. Later when dancing he tells her she looks stunning if it isn't already obvious. She thanks him.
Matt saves his own life with a kind gesture. When Rebekah asks to go outside with him in the parking lot he goes to his truck and takes a jacket to put around her shoulders. She replies she is a vampire and she doesn't get cold but realizes it's just a kind gesture.
Caroline watches the horse outside fondly. Klaus says she seems like she likes horses. Later her shows her the paintings and drawings he has, some of which he made himself.
Elena goes to meet the mother of the vampires. She wants to kill all her children as they are an abomination of nature. She needs Elena's blood and for all her children to drink the champagne containing the essence of the blood. She has the help of one of her sons who understands that they will all die.
Caroline goes home to find another present on her bed. It's a photo of her and the horse from Klaus. He wrote thank you for your honesty.
