Michelle Hurd (Colleen Manus) and Riley Smith (Greg Wheeler) would later both appeared in the newest version of 90210.
The hostage takeover at the hospital was filmed over the course of three days.
The helicopter landing pad on the roof of the hospital was actually a heli-pad in downtown Fort Lauderdale. They integrated scenes, making two separate locations appear as one.
The FDLE headquarters where Daniel drives away from was filmed at a Broward County Sheriff's office sub station located just up the street from The Glades sound stage in Pembroke Park.
The SWAT sergeant in the scene where Callie is dropped off from the helicopter is Lieutenant Robert Furman of the Broward County Sheriff's Office. He is an actual sheriff and the show's liaison for Broward County. Furman also had a role in the episode Exposed, where he played a police officer on scene with a murder victim.
The airport where Callie checks in for her trip isn't actually an airport, it's Port Everglades. The crew redecorated a terminal that normally holds cruise ships to transform the area into Palm Glades International Airport.
Nothing special was need to be done to make the water in the canal green. Some of the local ponds and lakes where the episode filmed are rich with green algae, which gives the surface of the water an almost luminous look.
