One block in Minecraft is 1 meter. So one Minecraft world is larger than the surface of the earth, and is roughly the size of Neptune in the Java Edition.
The End was originally going to be the opposite of the nether, which is based off of hell, if you look at what biome you are in while in the End, it will say "Sky".
Early in the game's history, a user posted a story on the Minecraft forums. It said that the user spawned in a new world, and as he was exploring, he encountered several structures that didn't normally spawn in the game, such as underwater pyramids and 1x2 tunnels. The user thought nothing of it until, in the distance, he saw a figure resembling Steve (the default Minecraft character) with his eyes rolled back. As soon as the user saw that entity, it ran away quickly into the fog, but not before the user took an image of the mysterious being, which was named Herobrine. The character quickly became a popular subject in the Minecraft community, and even spawned many Creepypastas (horror stories based on urban myths). Markus "Notch" Persson, the game's programmer, has often stated that Herobrine does not exist. However, the character can be seen in different artwork for the game, but this is likely a joke. In many patch notes, it will jokingly say, "removed Herobrine", because Persson wanted people to know that the character isn't real.
On the menu screen, there is a 1 in 10,000 chance that the "Minecraft" title would appear to be "Minceraft."
