Great overall fun Christmas episode.
bridunnusmc17 February 2021
For all those complaining it was absurd or didn't further the storyline just relax and enjoy the absurdity. The show and all it's premises doesn't take itself seriously, why shouldn't the Christmas episode follow the same path?

Self-Indulgent Experimentation
GunnersMate1 June 2018
Do You See What I See gives the viewer the gift of animation (of every sort and kind) for Christmas. The animation types vary by vignette and character and all are just familiar enough to make the viewer nostalgic for other animated shows/games/etc. and fresh enough to be wildly funny and interesting. To list them all would spoil the fun of surprise, but the writers and artists behind this episode, clearly had a wonderfully self-indulgent time with experiemnatal visuals for Do You See What I See. As a Christmas special, there is sufficient heart to open and close the episode, but the meat of the outing is all about resolving the crisis-of-the-week; so the festive season aspect feels a bit tagged on, but is still enjoyable after the massive season cliff-hanger which shocked everyone at the close of One Giant Leap. Bottom line - grab some popcorn and enjoy.

Fun and clever episode.

Did anyone notice Cerra had her old nose in the last scene. Must have edited some old clips.

I thought it was fun and clever. It's a Christmas Special, lighten up people:) The show normally doesn't take itself too seriously and most of the lots of the episodes are preposterous. Just enjoy it for what it is.

I laughed out loud a number of times. And enjoyed the animation. Clever use of different animation types.

I am watching this 12 years after it last aired. We didn't get the channel at the time. Andy has turned into one of my favorite characters.

This is one of my favorite episodes to date. It was fun watching his transition between animation types.

I am going to be sad when i get through all of the episodes.

Outstanding Episode.

One of my favorite Eureka episodes. I just wish there were more seasonal episodes like this one. And I wish there were just more of the show.

A non, Eureka canon, outlier
RockyMtnVideo23 April 2020
I didn't really care for this episode, but probably for different reasons than others may have mentioned.

First, some data points. This episode is really just an "early" Christmas special, which dropped 2 ½ months after the previous episode, and four months before the following episode. As others have said, it really doesn't add anything to the Eureka story arc. In fact, it is so disconnected, that in some places it is listed as a season four episode (e.g. here on IMDB, and also on Amz streaming), but on media releases, it showed up as the first episode of season five. And lastly, as is described in the IMDB Storyline, it is (almost entirely) animated, using numerous differing animation formats.

My problem with the episode is that the prior episode ended with the (dire) fate of many core characters (including Allison, Fargo, etc.), left totally unknown, something not resolved until four months after this episode (in season five). And yet, the first person we see, when this episode opens, is Allison, and soon thereafter, Fargo. Even though Eureka is obviously "SciFi lite", and this episode's production effort was "clever", it just seemed a bit too bizarre, and certainly, misplaced in the episodic timeline. It felt like something that the showrunners had been hankering to do, and probably knowing that Season 5 was the end of the line, they indulged their urge, shot the episode (story arc, be damned), and shoehorned it in, even though it made no sense. For me, in a series that already (knowingly) "stretches the science", needing viewers to accept that, this just felt like "a bridge too far". I don't "despise" it, but owning the media, when I re-binge the series, I just skip it.

You're crazy if you don't love this episode
jtleethor4 June 2023
It was great from start to finish. One of the funniest episodes of any show I've ever seen. If you don't love this episode you don't have a pulse. I imagine that people that gave a bad review are 90 years old or humorless single people with no clue. I've seen that done a couple times and shows and I wish it was done more often just fantastic, the best. Very creative love how they went from one type of cartoon to another type of animation and the way those characters voice over it was hilarious. Good job to all the cast and crew and the writers on that one. If any of the writers are working on other shows think about doing that again and again. Why are you featuring bad reviews this is absolutely the best of the best. I imagine the people who don't like it are zombies so please those ones shouldn't even count 10 stars out of 10 by 99% of the people I pulled and that was 8,000 so far.

The Single Worst Episode of Eureka
jman_jesusfreak27 January 2020
See title. It's terribly written, not funny, and wholly uninspired. It could have, and should have been one of the greatest episodes of the entire series, a la Community's "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas," or Farscape's "Revenging Angel." but it instead ends up as a soulless, tacked on Christmas episode that feels more like obligation than a labor of love. The animation looks good, and that's all I have to say that is good about this episode. Seriously, having seen every episode of this show twice, skip this one. It is a waste of time and does not contribute to the main storyline. Huge disappointment.

Maybe someone liked, I didn't

Maybe if this was on the end of the past seasons it would be ok, but not after the last episode.

And I still can't understand why I have to type six hundred characters.... is it something everyone has to do, or is it because I've written some politically incorrect views?

Ok then, this episode looks like made for children and I do not think all episodes were made for small children.

Am I there yet? No...still almost 200 characters behind.

Do people use double space, dots or commas to fill the space required???

I just bought the whole series on dvd, and this will be an episode I'll skip next time!

Straight up

This is a ... thing... that should never be inflicted on anyone who likes the series. Or anime. Or CGI. Or claymation. Or Christmas. Ever. In desperate need of a zero-star rating.

Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely love the show and think it's great, but this one is the worst I've come across. The fact that it gets turned into a cartoon made me cringe so badly that I skipped this one after 9 minutes and even felt the need to write this review to warn others.

Eureka is a great show and its episodes are normally very good and fun. This just isn't one of them.

Move along, move along...
