Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaJoe Swanson, a Quahog police officer, tells Quagmire the police cannot arrest Jeff for beating his girlfriend Brenda (Quagmire's sister) unless she files a formal complaint. In reality, Rhode Island law mandates police make an arrest in a domestic assault case. The arrest, based on probable cause, is made on behalf of the state; and victim cooperation, although hoped for, is not required. If the officer has probable cause to believe a domestic assault has occurred, the officer must make an arrest.
- GoofsWhen Quagmire gets in the car and hits the gas, his tires squeal even though the car is on a dirt road, not asphalt.
- Quotes
Peter Griffin: Yeah, that guy's scarier than an Iraq Lobster.
[Peter is suddenly in the lounge. He is playing "Rock Lobster" by the B52s on a small guitar. A Lobster wearing a Turban and sporting a large beard is dancing along on the rug]
Peter Griffin: Death to America! And Butter Sauce! Don't boil me! I'm still alive! Iraq Lobster! Iraq Lobster! Iraq Lobster!

Huh???
Even if the subject matter weren't handled with the delicacy of a toddler on roller skates ("it only hurts when I see!" and so on), people don't watch this annoying ass show to see anything remotely close to emotionally resonant, which this tries to be and fails miserably.
Literally haven't seen this episode in close to ten years but I remember hating it so much and so many little bits of it that just annoyed the hell out of me. Just so incredibly ignorant to the real issues it attempts to address while simultaneously being unable to decide if it wants to play the topic of domestic abuse as straight and real or light and comedic.
Either one of those would have been a horrible turn for this series, which had already been on the air for about three years too long by this point. Bad excuse for a television episode.
